    Are EXTENSIONS added yet?

Vivaldi allows the user to install extensions from the chrome store but the icon will not show up like in chrome. To see the extensions installed the user has to type vivaldi://extensions. Im my experience however some addons are not compatible yet (havent tried in a few versions).

I don't want to sound ungrateful, because I'm sure the developers are working quite hard. But I'm still missing important features, and it still uses quite a lot of CPU time for no good reason. Also, no full extensions support, what's taking so long? It's simply not good enough. And BTW, I've read that the GUI is written in JavaScript, how is this possible?

i suggest waiting until the final release to get best performance and most features. This hasnt even his beta yet.

One of the devs said that they are working on performance for next weeks release.

I really like Vivaldi, testing chrome extensions on it now. I might keep it as my 2nd to go browser. Really nice integration into the native OS.

@Rasheed187 Yeah, I've seen and agree that your negative observations could/should carry weight with the old school Opera users. Kind of a downer you don't have a direst link with the developer(s). Shoot over a powerpoint presentation and go the proverbial whole nine yards just to shake things up in the right direction. Apparently they're not listening in detail or they're practicing a bit of "selective hearing" via their feedback links.

Yes, I just wish I was the product manager! Because this really isn't good enough. When I see browsers like Opera 29 and Vivaldi, I get really mad that Opera decided to stop with Presto. Let's face it, especially Firefox and Chrome based browser feel much heavier than Opera 12.

I'm sure that Opera 13 (with Presto) would have blown other browsers away, it would have been superior in not only features but also in browsing speed. I see that more and more sites don't run correctly in Opera 12 anymore, so let's hope that the new MS Edge engine will be lightweight, because I'm not feeling Blink and Gecko at all.

Actually Maxthon is basically a "forked" Chromium/Blink with multiple differences (including page rendering APIs/fonts). It also has a custom shell.....

Yeah, you're right. This is a good thing security-wise right?

Yes, if you believe in security through obscurity. No, if you consider the possibility that certain old Chromium bugs are still untouched (that really was the case months ago). Overall, I do think it's a bit more secure.

Cool, I can live with 'a bit more secure', we take what we can get I suppose. I use Mx for 90% of my surfing on Windows. I feel pretty safe although I would like some things to be developed as extensions, particularly WOT.

So I was looking for dedicated Nsabook (Facebook) browser. Vivalid is still a bit buggy. But Maxthon does the job quite well. Need to keep my profile updated :)

I was recently left in charge of a community Facebook page. I didn't really want to do it but the former administrator had no one else she trusted. I've used Opera Blink--28--with Adblock Plus and Script Blocker and just have two Facebook top level domains whitelisted. It is working nicely. I am actually enjoying being on Facebook in a semi anonymous fashion. No ads and the javascript monster is tamed enough that it isn't overburdening the CPU and memory.

Vivaldi isn't mature enough for me to do more than test it now and then.

Why it is called "A browser for power users"?
Is its features not easy to use for average users?

No it's easy to use, but it has extra features geared to geeks or so called "power users".
