    I agree completely with you.

  3. I heard it when I went to a Kaspersky sponsored conference in DC in 2013. I also heard him speak at Georgetown University somewhere around that same timeframe.

    Both events were videotaped and may be on Youtube.... but I'm not going to go search.

    Not surprised to see Tencent and Qihoo start to attack on each other after AV-C publishing the result.

    Qihoo accused Tencent of faking its rank in the media reports by stating 98.4% detection rate as top among Chinese AVs (Qihoo got more than 99%, higher than Tencent);
    Baidu and Tencent then accused Qihoo of providing a special version with BD engine, and without QVM to avoid false alarms;
    And now someone jumps out to accuse Tencent of providing special version which has special logic for major AV tests in this thread: http://bbs.kafan.cn/thread-1824024-2-1.html

    Summary of the thread: Tencent updated the version of PCM shortly after the result publishing, and there were suspicious strings and logics targetting at specific av tests (AV-C, AV-Test, etc.) in the AV-C tested version, but not in the updated version.

    EDIT: content of the original thread has been removed by the author...

    Well, this kind of media wars and forum thread attacks always happen, everytime when any AV test agency publish a result.

    Nice China 'AV' vendors! Then where is Baidu? According to AV-C's test report, 'Note', tested version of Baidu should be special version too. Simply judged by suspicious strings like these, Qihoo try to fool AV-C, AVTEST and VB100 too, you can find them easily.

    Really tired to see such media wars everytime.... And this seems to be the common choice of all the top vendors in China.
