I am happy for Webroot that they finally are able to be tested consistently by at least one of the testing orgs. :thumb:

Is there any plan to include WSA in AVC tests?

thanks for the suggestion. tried it, and cmd came back with "The system cannot find the path specified." that did not surprise me. I did login to my webroot account (I have 1 or 2 active licenses) and seemed to get a canned automatic reply, and I tried that, including uninstall from safe mode, but seemed not to work. I have a hunch that the Security Center service was disabled once upon a time, and due to that some registry keys related to wrsa are forever embedded, if and until I manually ID them and delete them. I know that your're close to webroot support, but my experience with them has been mediocre at best, normally I get canned responses and if that doesn't work, they leave me hanging. my experience. I'm now thinking I need to make sure Security Center is running, undo a few security app currently installed, install wrsa again, and then uninstall it again. doable, but I'm thinking this is more of an annoyance and not a real problem since nod32 is installed and seems to be running correctly. Also wondering, why webroot does not have a workable uninstall app for the more current versions. Maybe you could suggest that and find out why they don't. ??

Because their customer service is a joke, they cannot even change my login email for my account console. Go figure. Have u ever tried uninstalling Webroot from a mac PC? That requires a degree in nuclear engineering entries tons of code o the mac os console.

Also, if Daniel AKA Triple Helix says that uninstall tool is for legacy products:

Why the hell is it the first thing that comes up when you search for Webfruit Uninstall tool? And why do they not have a proper in installer for PC and Max like every AV does? Not surprising from such an unprofessional company with some of the worst customer service I have seen

You don't use it anymore so why are you in here giving bad advice and not knowing what your talking about in the first place? Any issues should be Directed to the Support Inbox. I don't have any issues but again I'm not trying every AV on the market each day and night, I do that on VM's as I clone the VM and after testing I just delete the VM! :gack:

I'm here to speak the truth and guide people. This being a Webroot thread gives you no right to control what people post especially when it is valid information. I also hold a license for 5 pcs for 3 years, 3 for WSA AV and 5 for WSA Endpoint t protection so I have every right to post in this thread until the issues I raise I are rectified

Issues of Webroot as we stand are:

    1) horrible Webroot filter that is not fixed since a year (I don't care if it's fixed in the beta, to the end consumer, there is a big issue still.

    2) Webroot cannot be in installed properly without leaving traces

    3) Webroot CANNOT be uninstalled from a Mac PC without raising a ticket for support to login to the PC and manually enter lots of code in the console to totally remove it because if you uninstall it manually / move it to the trash, after a reboot it's there again just like a virus.

    4) with all the hassle of how to uninstall it, Webroot does not have a proper uninstaller

1, 2,3,4 never been an issue here and I am using WSA since Prevx era. So, you speak the truth but I also do. This type of input is of limited value (including mine) especially if repeated ad nauseam. For each negative feedback you will find ten's of positives feedback on the same issue. All is relative, the fact you have problems does not mean that several million users of WSA have the same problem, otherwise at this point (bad support, buggy program, difficult to install/uninstall, etc.) Webroot should have no clients ;)

I'm really disappointed to see this thread degenerate into what looks a children's playground. Whatever one's views are on the product, I think the use of the terms 'kool-aid' and 'webfruit' are childish at most. By all means discuss how WSA works and how it can be improved upon, but there's no need for the nonsense we've witnessed of late, and it doesn't matter who started it. We all have to remain calm, civil and, for some, professional in our responses.

Let's see if we can get back on track with talking about WSA properly.

I sure agree with the peace and harmony idea, but if I have an issue with a software, I'd try to approach it in a mature, patient way, and if my issue/s never became resolved over time (bearing in mind whether it's widespread and serious or not, and awareness that each individual set-up is unique), then if displeased ultimately the last thing I would do is keep making a general nuisance of myself (leading to embarrassment etc) in the product's thread or forum, and start calling the users childish and disrespectful names.

I'd get a refund, or simply move on to other 'pastures'.

I have Webroot on my android and my backup laptop. It works great. Once we figure out how to get it to work properly for everyone, we will have solved the mystery to world peace.

The Webroot web console is less than desirable. I have 3 current licenses and have approximately 10 irrelevant consoles with expired licenses that I can't go in and remove. Not very user friendly if you ask me. This just reminded me to contact support to take out the trash.

Indeed, sometimes if I install WSA AV on a client's computer it would register on the console and sometimes not. Not very reliable IMHO

And why can't a user simply change his login email for the console is beyond me. every other AV that has a console allows you to change emails, Avira, Avast, Kaspersky's My Account, Bull Guard, Norton. But no support wants you to create a new console account with the new email then create a support ticket and wait till they move your licenses, it can't get any simpler with Webroot

Charyb, if I remember correctly, you use or have used Emsisoft -- which I think is pretty good.

Do you recommend WSA as it compares to Emsisoft? I've noticed that some smart Wilders people like it.

I'm able to get Webroot free... so I've thought of trying it several times. On my older computers, I'm ready to try a new product.. Every time I think about trying it..... Truthfully, I'm always turned off by a few obnoxious Kool-Aid kids on this thread.

Yes Dermot7, good points. I don't know the history. There may be mitigating factors.

A bunch of cleanup has been done to take out a lot of comments that none of us here should be proud of. Professional, professional, professional... should be all our goals. Let's try that from here forward and keep this thread productive. Thanks

I have always thought Webroot support has been great. Not saying that the support team can fix what development can't. As you can see, Webroot support has responded within a couple hours (approximate).

:argh::argh: unfortunately, yes, I have a macbook pro not listed in my sig, and yes it has the unremoveable version of wrsa. my dumb move that day putting it on mac. I think wrsa is fine on win, but that doesn't mean I don't want to be able to uninstall it fully & cleanly. went around in circles with support trying to uninstall wrsa from mac. still there many months later. I just gave up. I'm not a mac fanatic, I got it to use it not to play with its guts, and I'm not sure what to do about wrsa and I think support does not know either. And I'm a tad too far away from an apple store (assuming they could figure out wrsa in OSX).

FWIW, I ran EAM8 (or earlier v too) & with webroot for couple years (ran prevx too), IIRC, EAM9 too, then EIS9 without webroot. I read that EAM10_beta is very fast. I was happier with emsi before that abandoned OnlineArmor and left me hanging in the middle of a trial period. In the past, EAM found commercial spyware on my office pc, that was not found by other av. (IT dept blew a gasket when I removed their spyware, they put it back overnight) Currently running nod32v8, like it, but if I didn't I'd put EAM back on, perhaps with the Outpost firewall.

Hello ..May I suggest that you put your Mac into Safe Mode https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18760?locale=en_US and then try to uninstall WSA from there the Finder Programs and drag WSA into the trash. I'm having trouble with my internet connection or I could give you exact instructions to uninstall from a Mac. I've done this for WSAC when I couldn't uninstall from normal mode. Then I rebooted and reinstalled WSAC for a fresh install. I've had WSAC since October 2013 on my MAC/ Yosemite. Hopefully this will solve your issue?

Here is a link to uninstall WSA from a Mac. http://www5.nohold.net/Webroot/ukp.aspx?pid=12&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&solutionid=1992&

Thanks for your input on this

On a side note, support were able to fully uninstall WRSA after many attempts and 30 minutes of entering lots of code into the console of MacOS till they finally removed it, it was always starting up again after every reboot and the user I installed it for complained to me that her Mac was very slow only until we removed it did the issue get fixed, guess the Mac version isn't as polished as the Windows version yet

    Thanks LWM.

    That's good feedback. Thanks simmersKOOL.

Uninstalling issues obviously are not good. I'll have to look into this further.

Hmmm I've never had a problem with WSAC running on my Mac. I've been running Beta and it runs flawlessly! WSAC is pretty polished and it's the only AntiVirus that works out there IMO for a Mac.:D

Oh one more thing about a Mac. Sometimes you need to verify the Mac's Disk Permissions and Repair in order to keep things running smoothly.

I had a couple of WSA licenses. A co-worker of my wife needed her laptops worked on - on the side, so I fixed them up, and installed WSA on them and charged her for the licenses and never looked back. Working on computers here and there outside of work can provide a good outlet for ditching unsatisfactory AV products.. (IMO)
