Updates are back online. Sorry for the downtime. The extra load of v10 beta on our servers was a bit unexpected I have to admit.
At the moment we're working with Edgecast which is one of the bigger ones around. To be honest it's new to me that they don't serve China at all. I'll check back with them. Can't you reach our servers at all or is it just slower downloading?
Updated from version 9 beta to 10 beta. All good, malware scan speed is just amazing, normal smart scan took about 15min, malware scan takes less ten 4 Now, there is a slight problem. After each update EIS open up ca. 1000 (one thousand) connections.Aside from fact in might be related to update servers overload, such a number of connections should be IMO be considered bug:
If you are in China, you can always just dodge the DNS poisoning that is going on there, and edit your HOSTS file so dl.emsisoft.com points to one of these IPs: 72.21.81.253 (Americas) 93.184.221.133 (Europe) You can just add the following line to your HOSTS file for example: Code: 72.21.81.253 dl.emsisoft.com That will allow EAM and EIS to update properly.
Fabian, was this answer directed at me? If so, then I live in Poland and can update properly. Only problems is w/ those connections. Holding steady at 860 now with a2service taking constant 20% of CPU power.
Edgecast didn't provide optimized servers for China in the past, but now their servers outside China are mostly blocked (DNS pollution). Official website is still working, but download/update servers are not accessible. I personally use EEK for now and I have to use proxy to update. Using a server outside China to ping your server domain and adding the ip address to hosts file also work, and this is what most chinese users do to stay with your product...
No, it was for coolcfan. We are aware of the lingering connection issue. It will be fixed in the next beta scheduled for tomorrow.
That's sad, i guess I have to reinstall version 9 for now. It's first time I have issues with public beta, I hope it will be resolved soon Thanks, Barthez
Here I thought a screenshot would help http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2m4bmnt&s=8#.VSUduZMgmDA Emsisoft is not available in all programs. I uninstalled it, so anyone have any ideas why Windows is still seeing it? Thank you.
Keep also in mind that those are OEM cd's and must be purchased with a piece of software or hardware. Those cd's should not be made available on ebay as stand alones. Either way these were created a long time ago and we now Distribute retail boxes in NA
Just booted into EAM snapshot which is enabled for beta updates, and got the automatic upgrade. Following a reboot to complete installation, I am now running the v10.0 beta... I ran a quick scan. Spoiler: screenshots
Emsisoft AM version 9 was officially released last June. I would say it has lasted a good while before work on the next version started.
I have EAM set to update manually... Why is it continually sending information both ways nonstop, since I updated to the new v10? Spoiler: screenshots
Like I say, nonstop MB's ...I will have to block it , otherwise I am wasting my bandwidth.... Spoiler: screenshot
See my post No'd 164 above...Like I said, I updated last night, and it has since had traffic of more than 200 MB's in both directions...I have taken screenshots. I only open the GUI, when I go to manually update.
Much appreciated...Something is not right, see the blocks in both directions, from the screenshot I posted just now.
