Because I spend my money to buy a plain AV (Avira Pro) and I don't want to install crap (aka OE launcher) instead. I'm a customer, not a user of Avira free.....

just fyi i have now shown the new gui to exactly 38 people (so far) EVERY one of them chose the old one over the new one. more than half of them said the new one looked "cheap" or 2 said "like a fake av", a 3 asked me if i was trying to run an android app on windows. not one of them said they would take the new one over the existing one. and i chose all average users who are in no way computer savy at all. 8 of them said there was not enough info shown on the new one and wanted to know why it opened the "old" one anyway when choosing options and found the "extra step" to get there was not needed. this was just a small group but there was not one person of the 38 in favor of the new gui. not sure if this matters at all because it seems they make changes anyway regardless of what the actual users suggest but i can assure you this new one does not at all go over well. the main comment i heard was it looked cheap. or "toy like" as a few said. i highly suggest either majorly refining this or going backwards and starting over i would be happy to continue trialing this with average clients but i highly doubt it will end up any different based on the comments and looks it got already. remember these were all normal users at all various ages from 21 to the oldest was 68
Well well well ,I hope make an other alternative gui for legacy/Advance view, instead of using this oversimple gui to replace current this GUI miss so much important function event,report,manual update,game mode,sending files directly from quarantine,boot sector scan,= =" where is it? After reading the reason of removing decision,quite angry about that. i am using the premium version of the avira program and the eicar test-files were flagged when i tried to download them, both by the "webguard" and by the "realtime-protection".. i downloaded the files using "firefox 36.0.4"..
Impossible. What version are you using right now? Probably 15.0.8.656 instead of the new 15.0.9.502 version, which contains the new folder changes.
Yes, I am using 15.0.8.656 which was downloaded yesterday from their website. Avira seems to have reverted to an older version for some of the components for the time being after having some problems with the real-time protection turning itself off after their latest product update. Perhaps the product not showing up in CCleaner is another problem of that update for some?
This is what I meant. With the new Avira Free version 15.0.9.502, Avira isn't on the Application -> Utilities list anymore, because of the recent folder changes. In the meantime I've reverted back to version 15.0.8.656 since Avira pulled the new update 9 like @JoakimM said, because of possible real-time protection issues.

I installed Avria and want to remove the windows firewall component. I go to uninstall/ change programs and I cannot select any check boxes to remove this. Is this now impossible to do am I missing something? I would like to use this product but it keeps telling me i'm not protected Help
@ rs11, In order to add/remove a component, this is the normal procedure ("modify" option) = if not works, go for repair = then try once again to add/remove a component via the "modify" option. If problem persists, try to reinstall Avira =

During Avira's initial installation and during the "modify" mode, VoodooShield protection was turned off?
As you have the free version, you can't get Avira's official support.
