I noticed today that IMON set to High efficiency causes my downloads get corrupted, all the zip files have CRC errors. And this is both downloading with Internet explorer and Download Express. Setting them to compatability mode solves problems. Also when I downloaded the .12 version from Nod it was corrupted!

I had this problem: with IMON on maximum efficiency. If the size of the downloaded file is unknown, when IMON switches automatically to high compatibly, when arriving at the size limit, the download stops and the file is truncated and corrupted of course.

    It’s perhaps a different problem

The newest one is what I use. I have had Imon in HE before, it was today the problems appeared (before updating to 2.12.2 ver.)

So has the new 2.12.2 fixed your problem?

If not, can you please send a email to support@nod32.com with a link to this thread.

Also, would appreciate if you can keep us in the loop as to results...

    Cheers :D

No 2.12.2 has not corrected the problem. It maybe appeare with the 2.12.1 version, I didn't notice it with 2.11b.

I looked closely what happens wit Download Express and the problem is like Alex T describes: just before downloading is complete speed drops to 0 and after a second or two it continues to the end. I think it is at this point the file gets corrupted. And this happens with plain IE too.

QuickFix idea: Set DownloadExpress compatibility to Compatible and use it for download large files...

I can reproduce this bug, but source of trouble is on server. Why it can't send file-length? :( It is ugly...

    Just my 0.02$:
    - as of version 2.12.2, all applications are set to higher compatibility mode by default
    - given the principle download managers work, they must be set to higher compatibility

At any rate, we will look into the issue.

Yes, I knew already that compatible-mode does not corrupt files, but I would like to get the extended safety wiht HE also work.

And Marcos: the corruption happens also with plain IE without any manager. I use XP SP2 and XP internal firewall.

It is not the websites but the downloaded files (almost all of them) including Eset's NOD32 -files. I tried yesterday download the newest 2.12.2 version several times with and without download manager but every time the packet was corrupted. With compatability mode files come ok.

System: Win XP SP2, AMD 900, 4mb/s ADSL. Download Express, Maxthon and IE 6 browsers. XP SP2 own firewall. Nothing special.

No problems with websites with 2.12 version 2.11b had problems.

Maybe it had something to do with the signatures. After 1853 was published the downloads are ok again. No problems with IMON at all

Jannu, I cannot think of what impact could update of virus signatures have on downloading files. I suspect you must have done also something else in the meantime which made the problem go away.
