Hi, I am suddenly experiencing massive problems with my laptop.
It started with boot problems, then serious lagging/freezing. It got better, sometimes able to boot, then sometimes not, then black screens.
Booted from kaspersky disc to retrieve files. Then managed a proper boot. Now I cannot boot properly from rescue disc,or recovery discs and getting strained clicking noise from hard drive.
Can I safely assume this a hard drive failure.
    Thank you kindly

If you get a new drive, then possibly you will be able to clone the old drive from a bootable flash drive or DVD created with the free version EaseUS Disk Copy and end up a with a fully working cloned drive that will boot, as it has the option to continue the clone when it encounters bad sectors on the source drive.
