Panda Security 2015 solutions released

So are things taken care of? I have family that runs Panda and they had their computers turned off before this happened can they turn their computers back on?

 

Yes they can turn computers back on, because panda took away this bad update.

Panda is a good option for a free AV. Panda has had a few good test results recently.

Hopefully they institute new controls and standards and keep moving the product forward.

 

Hopefully lightning won't hit the ailuropoda melanoleuca twice.

I still can't get past the third command 'Sc stop nanoservicemain'. I assume I can't proceed until it works.

Whew! Alright. I was able to open up the Panda program. It's disabled but it shows 0 files in quarantine and 105 suspicious items. So what's the next step?

edit: I logged off my account and back on. I'm not getting the pop-ups (yet) and zemana anti-logger free finally loads. But should I uninstall Panda now, or?

 

If there are no files in the quarantine wouldn't I be safe in completely uninstalling Panda?

 

This is ridiculous. I'm at a standstill of whether I should keep Panda or get rid of it to see if the problem goes away. Who knew an antivirus would do the total opposite of what it's intended to do.

 

I think it's time to switch to Linux.

 

Well I took care of the problem. Good grief.

 

It was because of instances like this that I bought a laptop pre-installed with Ubuntu. I don't need an AV on it. False-positives have always been a problem with any anti-malware apps. I've seen a few in my time and, for me anyway, far outweigh the actual malware any AV catches. When I installed Panda Free on my Win 7 computer one of the first things I did was disable the default automatic quarantining of detected malware.

 

I liked how smooth Panda works in the background but this kinda ruins it for me. Never went back to BD Free either since their ordeal rendered computers useless too.

 

I hope you sorted everything out finally. I'm with Frank on this one, Panda are really going to be on their toes now and will be making every effort to ensure this doesn't happen again.

 

Fortunately I have not deployed Panda free AV to masses yet so it did not hit me. But most likely I am going to because I love the way it works/how light it is.

 

Ya, I would say people are safe to keep running Panda. If I didn't have BD paid I would run Panda free, sure.

 

So far so good. I'll have to wait for Panda to release a newer version before I think about going anywhere near it. A shame considering I had no problems with it before and loved the way it quietly operated in the background. Computer troubles are a nightmare.

 

It's certainly the lightest AV I've ever used.

As far as I can tell this was a bad signature update and would have had the same effect on any Panda version that received it. Neither I nor any of my relatives that run Panda were affected by this. I count myself lucky.

 

Dave do you plan on keeping it on your PC?
