I need to know something about HMPAlert, we all know it's a anti-exploit, but what are its other functions besides protection against Cryptolocker and what is Network Lockdown?

Most info can be found in this thread. We will release full documentation once Alert is released.

I've been running build 155 on Windows 7X64 now for 3 days without any problems.

Edited: I forgot one thing. I still have the problem with the protection border not going away with Media Player Classic. When it happens I have to close Media Player Classic, and start the video again.

No problems updating Java JRE to version 8u40 via internal updater (W7 64 bits/build 155).

Are you using NoScript, I.E blocking JavaScript?

I don't know how Sanboxie works so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not.

Yes using Noscript. I will restart Firefox with addons disabled.

Edit: Firefox 36.0 wont restart with addons disabled (sandboxed and unsandboxed).

Tried it again. I get a fligh out (saying Firefox 36.0) and then nothing (using Sandboxie 4.16).

Edit: Maybe caused by a specific addon?

You shouldn't have to disable add-ons, just temporarily allow wilderssecurity.com in NoScript.

Can you watch videos at youtube? Do you get the blue fly-outs there? Assuming of course you have activated the exploit mitigations in HMP.A

Temporarily allowed Wilders but no fligh out.

Edit: I get a flash-flight out on Youtube when a movie or a stream starts. Thats normal.

I realize some problems with webcam protection and Windows 8.1 apps. Alert build 155 (latest)

    1. If I start f.e. Skype app camera doesn't work. Switching back to desktop shows the correspondending alert. (as suspected)
    2. If I click allow and switch back to App, camera still doesn't work. On desktop I see the next alert.
    3. If I disable Webcam Notification it still doesn't work.

So the only solution to use Skype app that I found is disable HMP.Alert service, set it to manual start and reboot Computer.

Am I doing something wrong or is here a real show stopper for a release?

    ___

    Edit: Addition

When I place both windows together on screen (which is not default) and don't switch, then it works after one allow.

But why at all webcam notification occurs, if I disable it?

Any chance we can add exceptions for the camera? I hate constantly getting pop ups when switching scenes on OBS.

I had to apply Browser Template to Skype for it to start while HMP.Alert was running.

Just ran in to some big issues with my new keyboard. I just purchased a corsair k65 RGB.

    http://www.corsair.com/se-fi/corsair-gaming-k65-rgb-compact-mechanical-gaming-keyboard

I plugged in the keyboard and installed the corsair software (CUE). When i plugged in the keyboard HMPA asked if i wanted to allow or block the keyboard (it asked twice), i clicked allow. After i clicked allow the corsair software updated the drivers on the keyboard then i received a BSOD. After i restart my computer my new keyboard wouldnt type anything even though it was turned on (lit up). I kept getting a message from windows that there was a USB device connected that wasn't running properly.

I tried restarting windows again and the same thing happened. To log in to my system i had to use the on screen keyboard. Once i logged in to windows it would BSOD again.

Since HMPA asked to allow/block the keyboard it was first on my list of potential problems. I just uninstalled HMPA ,restarted, and everything is working as expected.

@erikloman i sent you a link to the memory dumps. If you need anymore information please let me know.

Over the past 2 weeks we have identified a few issues related to BadUSB and Webcam Notifier. This are addressed and will be available in the next build. This should be out before the coming weekend.
