This is hewee but someone had the name and I think it was me years ago but not sure because I just now signed up again.
So many here know me.

Anyhow we had this same thing happen years ago and the Admin that was given right under the owner of site was able to get site back up by paying. We did this for a couple years so went thru the same thing more then once. 2nd time we did things ahead of time so site was never down. May of done it a 3rd year but I don't think so. We really never heard from the site owner who we had email address, home address and phone number after she got married. So we started the site over as a free version of invisionfree.

Point is someone with Admin rights should be able to talk to someone to get the site back up if they pay the money for another year because we had done it twice. Your still limited on what you can do but just talk it over with them. I will see if I can get a hold of the person that did this but he got married too and has some health things going on so we only see him now and then. Our new site is under another user name.

hardhead, I am not sure but are you not up there with the Admin rights?

 

So what is the deal. Money, time and of effort.........this is one of the most useful sites within the web..........a very sad day if it goes away...........

 

Right now the site needs to pay up to stay around.

I vote to give $5.00 when back up to repay who ever. Sure others will help too. We just need another Admin to talk to them and pay up to keep it going till we hear back from Peter. Also maybe another user needs to be give rights or his name given in case Peter gets hurt and can not do things. That Peter has to do.

This is a great site I go to all the time so we sure do not want to lose it.

Then site needs other with Admin rights to backup the site. You can have other members with limited Admin rights and get 2 or 3 others that make a backup. That way if anything happen and another member goes away your have others that have backups.

 

As a long time visitor I am crushed. I relied heavily on this site to keep my systems at work current. Is anyone aware of a similar site? But this worst news may be here:

It is noticed that COU is still listed as always, on Dozleng.com.

Is it worth setting up a temporary update site somewhere?

 

Money is not the issue we can't get Peter to contact us for what ever reason we don't know what's going on with him, we called him and left messages and sent many emails but no reply.

Bad things can happen. Look what happen to Donna. But we did not lose the site because someone else was able take over. Same needs to be done in case Peter has something happen.

You need the 4-digit pin number for the CoU account at GoDaddy. Without it, you cannot pay the domain renewal. I already tried.

Sounds good because so many use the site just to look at the "Calendar of Updates" and never post. I post but am always looking at the "Calendar of Updates".

 

That is the reason to post at IP Forum or call them to let them know what's going on and get someone that can take the money that can keep the site from going down for non payment.

eggplant43 or eggy or Bruce did that with them so it can be done. All the same person. I email and PM him so just need to wait to hear back

 

Given the whois contacts info and the http://www.icann.org/epp#clientRenewProhibited status, I think this just gone forever. RIP.
