well they r gonna get smarter as time goes by but its still a safe OS IMO and i havent installed any AV on my device though have the latest OS (lollipop) installed.

 

As far as I understand the app requires root so if your capable enough to root your device you should know a thing or two about the risks your taking. Low risk IMO

Don't think I'm infected just cya. But is there a detection process and a removal tool yet?

 

I think any good security app like Avast Mobile, AVG, Sophos, etc should be able to kill it.

 

I use the free Q.360 anti-malware on my Android. Is that just a scanner? If so, are their any recommended real=time protection apps available for Android.

 

360 is a good real-time solution that should be able to protect you from stuff like this.
