There's no version yet for common users... It may follow, this year, it seems.
For the moment it's only for enterprises and administrations.
Uhuru may be less signatures based - it may be more like an innovative sort of behavior blocker.
Uhuru is the culmination of a french project (a good reason to be proud ;-) from 3 or 4 years.

The primary goal of Uhuru is to block "unknown" threats. It seems Uhuru was able to detect the new malwares from the Equation Group due to his special algorythm...

I don't know anything more about Uhuru, but I will follow the developpment ;-)

    Hope this help ;-)

    Best regards,
    Laurent

Sounds interesting, but a bit weird that they seem to be focused only on France right now.

« The thread should be retitled "A new anti-malware for Windows and Linux", and moved to the https://www.wilderssecurity.com/forums/other-anti-malware-software.35/ board methinks. «

    You dont understand.

Uhuru is an ANTIVIRUS, for all malwares (antivirus in french).

French State gave money for its realization.

Out NSA!... Uhuru block " équation ", and Norton? McAfee?

You're right bob, Uhuru is an antivirus ;-) a french antivirus, yeah :) for all malwares of course ;-)
My first post was perhaps lacking of clarity :doubt:
Apologize for my bad english writing and i am not an too techie user...

Uhuru rely on a novative technology, it seems, which may be able to detect and block better than any other antivirus 0 day and other advanced persistant threats.
There may be so a lot less of signatures needed - I don't know who will give those signatures databases, perhaps clamAV, which will be logical...

It's indeed a french state realization, at the start - one of the goal was to have an independancy ;-) The meaning of the name "uhuru" is in fact "liberty".

    Kind regards,
    Laurent

    Well, the website is uhuru-am.com.
AM stands for anti-malware, and if you look into your browser's title bar it says "Uhuru Anti-Malware".
Call me stupid if you want, I'm just reporting what I see.

The classification of Wilders detection tools is outdated, and you put my topic in the wrong place.

    AntiTrojan and antimalware are rare.

Uhuru is like Eset or Kaspersky an ANTIVIRUS.

The Uhuru site is at this moment made for technicians, the appellation "antimalware" is not made for the general public.
