Old versions till 12 were very configurable with many Preferences. Now are missing, or I'm wrong ?

i tried to to do a clean install w8.1 and to copy all the profile ,but the password are gone
can somebody tried it?

Unfortunately yes. While you can copy all user profile from one to another Opera installation, the passwords aren't transferred for security reasons.

We need to wait until synchronization is duly implemented in future versions, then it should be possible to sync also passwords.

Opera 27 stable has been updated to 27.0.1689.66. Opera blog is silent about that, so no changelog available yet. I would bet it brought only new Chromium.

 

Does it still start up the "Opera Crash Reporter" during browsing, for no good reason?

 

Never had this issue spotted.

I meant the inbuilt sync option (using Opera cloud) which is actually already included in Opera but it is not activated yet because the sync is still being developed.

 

Btw, Opera 27.0.1689.66 has been released. I don't see a changelog, though I noticed they updated Chromium from 40.0.2214.91 to 40.0.2214.94.(Behind latest version with security fixes, which is 40.0.2214.111)

 

Opera 27 stable has been updated to 27.0.1689.69. Opera blog says nothing as becomes the rule for such small updates. Probably includes only Chromium update.

Since I have installed Pepper Flash, when a site with Flash loads, a command prompt window opens and immediately disappears again. When the system is busy it takes a little longer so I'm able to read the text before it closes. All it says is "NOT SANDBOXED". Anyone else experiencing this?

I think it's not bad, they managed to get such share within a year what Presto couldn't reach for many more years.

 

I fail to see how Presto and Blink are related with their user numbers. The average user doesn't care about what technicalities the browser is doing and if the velocity of a browser would have mattered, Opera Presto would have been number 1 against IE, Firefox or Safari, because it was the fastest of them all even 5 years ago. They had better & more responsive GUI, a very fast engine, good development speed, nice features.

It's a matter of opinion. Anyway some attempts to cope with Opera Presto seem viable (Vivaldi, Otter) but you will never get a 100% Presto-alike browser. It's a certainty.

Yes, and I'm still using it with pleasure. And when sites not work, or work slowly, I start up Firefox. Luckily most sites work just fine, and I've noticed that some web-developers seem to have fixed code on their bloated sites, for example Facebook.com and dell.com have become a lot faster on Opera 12.

 

Nice to know that they seem to be doing fine, but sadly enough I can not get excited about Opera Blink, I think Vivaldi have already shown more innovation than them, and Vivaldi isn't even that great yet.
