The purpose of this poll is to get an understanding of which UAC settings are used most often these days and get get a decent breakdown between options. This poll is intended for users running modern versions of Windows which support these UAC options. The idea is to choose an option based on your main daily use system, although I'm sure there are different scenarios as well so simply choose based on what you feel is appropriate.

    * I have enabled the option to allow multiple selections. The main purpose in this case is to allow users to select their UAC level but also for users who modify additional UAC settings by way of Group Policy or Registry Key settings specific to UAC. This gives those users the option to select that as well.

The idea for this poll came to mind while reading the following thread:
UACMe - Defeating Windows User Account Control

MrBrian has created a discussion thread for UAC here:

Always Notify. I have been getting used to CHIPS prompts so UAC's prompts feel like easymodo. =V

Never notify me. If you use a behavior blocker/HIPS, you don't need UAC.

I have it set to never notify me. This is what I've had it set to on all my computers ever since it was introduced with Vista. I know this makes my system less secure, but I can live with that as I find the UAC prompts to be highly annoying.

The only time I ever want to receive a security replated prompt is when a known threat is found.

Although always notify would be more secure, I don't rely on UAC for security. Dimming the desktop is an annoying waste of time and resources, so I choose the third option.

I don't like dimming part also. That's why I changed the behavior from "Prompt for consent on the secure desktop" to "Prompt for consent" using GPedit.
Uh, I guess I should choose last option...

I just use the default. I already have fairly strict file permissions and any software that wants to make changes to the system is going to have to be run as administrator anyway. If I changed it, it would be to the highest setting.

For those who choose Always Notify, please briefly add just what you think UAC actually does in way of protection.
