True, but even if F-secure would have the best support in the world, it would probably not matter as if a customer is not willing to troubleshoot an issue together with the vendor to reach a solution then one can't expect to get it fixed quickly, if at all, depending on what it's all about.

Update guys, finally got a reply after 5 days from F-Secure regarding my first ticket which was asking on how to buy a 5 user license as the max they have on their site is 3 users only and how they deal with re-installations:

    "Thank you for contacting F-Secure.
    With regards to your inquiry:

    1. On purchasing an F-Secure Anti-Virus license for more than 3 devices, please here or click the link below:

    https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/home_global/anti-virus

Then click the "Buy now" button. You will be given the option to choose how many devices you want to protect with your license.

    2. On how we deal with re-installations, yes, you can re-install your security program as much as you can, but after reaching your limit and are told that your key has been used the maximum number of times, you will need to contact us for a rest key process, by making a support request via our website or by giving us a call.

Please try the steps provided above and let us know if it works. Do contacts us again should you need further assistance.

    Thank you."

Hope this helps anyone who had my concerns

I dunno why the hate from some people here, I thought I am doing myself and others a favor by providing hands on experience on what to expect. I know the average or even pro users like us will not need support usually....but hey, wait a sec, what if you do? what if a license was blacklisted and you had to wait 5 or more days till someone got back to you? What if the license was used in a critical business environment?

Anyway, I am sorry you feel this way about my posts. If I saw someone complaining like I am on these forums, you know what? I would actually be happy because all the reviews in the world mean nothing to me compared to real users' experience.

Sorry if my posts bothered anyone, from now on, if I buy an AV and have an issue, I won't post it, let you all try the AV and get burned yourself by bad customer service such as Panda's or F-Secure's or whatever AV it may be you are using.

We do appreciate your information regarding product supports. It is just the wordings that might be a bit too uncomfortable to read for some people, most notably the thread title. No harm intended, really.

I bought F-Secure's AV at the end of March and for one reason or another decided to take them up on their 30 day money back guarantee. I spoke to an agent via the chat feature on their website and after checking a few details I was given a full refund which came through a couple of days later.

I'm sure your quarrels with them are legitimate and I hope you get them sorted but I had no problems with F-Secure support.

You'll find eventually you will give up on most AV's, and select a 'golden few' to even consider or check on anymore. For me that's Eset, Trend, Kaspersky and most recently Norton because of the changes in 2015. But Norton wasn't on that list prior. I pretty much ignore everything else, and don't waste my time anymore, nor will we consider anything else at the company I work for to deploy. It makes things much easier.

What's the URL to the F-Secure site page exactly where that is occurring?

First one was through the product BUY button itself:

    https://www.f-secure.com/en_US/web/home_us/anti-virus

Then Customer support gave me this URL claiming that it would give me the option to select 5 users which isn't true:

    Quoted from their email:

"1. On purchasing an F-Secure Anti-Virus license for more than 3 devices, please here or click the link below:

    https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/home_global/anti-virus

Then click the "Buy now" button. You will be given the option to choose how many devices you want to protect with your license."

So I didn't see the 5 user option in that as well

Secondly, when I asked them how much would it cost to upgrade my license from 3 users to 5 users that's not possible once a license has been issued. Talk about flexibility!

Every other AV I own with the help of their sales/customer service, they can add or substract users from a license, extend the validity, and sometimes even downgrade you if you wish to a lower product and increase the validity.

Anyway, I'm gonna try the chat again which failed last time to connect to anyone to see if I can get a refund.

I agree, out of the 10s of other AVs out there, only a few stand out. Gotta love ESET's customer service

So I contacted F-Secure about the refund, they replied back that they cannot help and only Clever Bridge can refund......

    sigh.....

So I email Clever Bridge and guess what? They reply within 10 minutes with my refund confirmation! That was definitely a more pleasant experience than the F-Secure customer service.

    I am done with F-Secure

    Kindly close this thread
