Do you use a battery saver type App on your Android SmartPhone, Tablet, etc.?

If yes, please list the Android App that you use and why you prefer it over the others.

    Thanks in Advance.

No. It's not necessary. I've done a pretty good job of managing dial out activities (syncing, updating, etc.), toggling radios off when not needed, reducing brightness (not auto), clearing caches and limiting apps/data stored on my device. Next step would be drop stock android and Google bloatware.

No, unless Smart WiFi Toggler counts.

    No, I do not.

And I just knew that I can't put less than 5 characters in my post.

I use DU Batter Saver Pro and have used it for some time, originally as DX Battery Saver. DU and DX Battery Saver are basically the same app, but I switched to DU Battery Saver Pro as it is a paid app, so I could support the developers.

One of features I like the most is that on rooted phones, it underclocks the CPU when the phone is locked to save battery power.

Also, to save battery power I have mobile data turned off most of the time, always have WiFi turned off (I have no need to ever use it), and only turn on GPS when I need to (a few times a year at most).

    Edit:
As to why I prefer it over others. To be honest I've only ever used a few such apps and settled on this one and see no reason to change.

I havent tried any battery saver app extensively but i did try a few in the past for a short time (A couple days) and i didnt notice any difference in battery consumption.

My battery saver is called "Data Off" and "Wi Fi Off". In extreme and rare cases "Airplane Mode". :D

This is what I currently use to extend my battery life:

    Deep Sleep Battery Saver Pro.
It disables wifi and mobile data when the phone is locked to saver power, but every two hours it briefly enables them. It alsk kills some background apps when the phone is locked.

    Greenify.
It hibernates specified apps so they can't launch automatically in the background (and consume battery power), but will run as normal when manually launched. Currently I have 24 apps hibernated. It does not work perfectly. Sometimes it won't hibernate some apps after they have launched, and I have to hibernate them by pressing the hibernate icon in Greenify.

Also, I usually have both wifi and mobile data disabled, except for times when I need to access the internet.

I use cheap phones with poor battery life (and capacity) compared to the flagship phones so it is important for me to try and save power when I can.

No I don't think one is necessary.

Greenify and Tasker Profiles (some are my own and others I found on various forums). With both of those, and prior to Lollipop, if I wasn't using the phone I lost ~1% each hour.

No, I don't use my phone or tablet enough to where I actually need one.

As above. And if you manage antennas on your own, the battery saver won't do much.

No. As is, battery life for my phone is at least 3 times what was advertised.

(How would a battery saver app work without root access, anyway?)

    What phone do you have?
Most functions don't need root. The main feature needing root is to underclock the CPU when the phone is locked.

@roger_m I have a Kyocera Rise. Cheap used model, runs Android 4.0. Battery life is probably because I barely use the thing at all.

Used to run DeepSleep but no longer. I already toggle my data on and off manually so whatever saving it does is negligible.

Tried Greenify from time to time because I like the idea behind it but it doesn't work that well in non-root mode.

So now, no 3rd party battery saver app.

Furthermore, my main battery killer is the screentime - I am actively using the phone while connected.
So, reduce the brightness when indoor and off the data when it's not in use.
