The thing about it though is that they want a phone number. I mean it's a non issue when all these services already have your IP address, your first and last name, your card numbers... And ironically, with what Snowden says about Dropbox, you might as well have everyone into your stuff anyway- they already are.
Now I have 12 accounts with 2 factor authentication using 3 devices... Most of them having backup codes of course.
Yesterday's news that hackers might've stolen some 7 million Dropbox credentials should've scared you into changing your password. And if you didn't already have two-step authentication enabled on your account, it should be pretty good reminder that you need to turn it on for every account possible. Weird thing here, drop box claims it wasen't hacked And then there are lot of dumps in pastebin and some reddit users clamining that the log ins are actually working: http://i.imgur.com/G2xMPbV.png http://i.imgur.com/5p6Rg3s.png But i don't get this. Which hacker will release pastes in pastebin asking for donations insted of selling the dumps if he really wants money?
2FA with another casual pseudonymous email account crossover, no commitment here. You know what's funny? This is a clear evidence that security, privacy and anonymity are different matters. Nobody can get all the three.
