I will have to check the paths, but surely it would better if the update could find the path, and confirm, before proceeding. I have run many softwares, and betas, as evidenced by my many posts at Wilders.

But, I must say when it comes to updating my MJRW installs, I am flummoxed... and I am not a computer novice. ;)

Software updaters tend to be separate processes so that they can update and restart the main application. I was lazy (after all, it is free software! :p ) so I got MJRW to get as far as possible before offloading the rest of the update to the end user. Personally, I would get WinRAR to ignore stored paths when extracting, overwrite files without prompting, and always navigate to the correct directory where the MJRW executable is living. HTH,

What I would give if GE ever made a Real-Time version of this beauty :) Polling is ok and greatly improved and it's super legendary to see a developer hang tight to a program this long without abandoning it at some point. Thanks Graphic :thumb:

It looks as if hitmanpro37 is a service that starts and stops a lot. You can exempt the alerts (so they won't come up in future) by adding :-

    hkey_local_machine\system\? ? ?\services\hitmanpro37

to the "Edit Exempt Keys and Filespecs List" under the Options menu. (Please remove spaces between question marks. Without them, this forum posts o_O !!)

If the error I see (in your screenshot) is from the uninstall then indeed we have to wait for GE to comment.

Maybe a very stupid comment (sorry) but I guess you already have tried to run it as Admin and tried it there ?

    Try this controler :-

    1) Login as administrator to the PC.
    2) Press Ctrl+Alt+F6 to bring up MJRW. (Or just click the tray icon - I was just showing off keyboard shortcuts!)
    3) Right-click on the Options button. This should now position MJRW on the Run keys.
    4) Right-click on the Regedit button and choose the key under which MJRW is installed (usually hkey_local_machine for all users).
    5) Tick the MJ RegWatcher entry and OK to delete it.

If that doesn't work, then left click the Regedit button when on the run keys, and see if you can do it from Regedit. If you can't do it there, it's a rights issue, something you'd need to take up with the administrator who put those restrictions in place.

    HTH, regards,

I booted into this snapshot, a little while ago, and have two tray icons. Haven't seen this happen with MJRW, before.

If you move your mouse pointer over the tray icons, does one of the MJRW icons disappear? If not, then you must have configured it to start up twice!

    1) Right-click on the Regedit button and choose the key under which MJRW is installed (usually hkey_local_machine for all users).
    2) Tick the MJ RegWatcher entry and OK to delete it.
    3) Look for other keys under the run key which may also launch MJRW, for example, one of the user keys witha long name like s-1231234-34566-7567...

Followed by a reboot, and voila.... back to one tray icon.

I'm glad you got it sorted. MJRW can have multiple instances running. This can be useful if you want to check one set of keys on a slower polling interval than the other keys. There are probably many other uses of multiple instances I cannot cite currently.

Thanks...but, now you confuse me with this statement ..."This can be useful if you want to check one set of keys on a slower polling interval than the other keys."

You can have one of the MJRW's with a poll interval of 300 seconds for a tough set of keys, and another on the standard 30 seconds for the rest of the keys.
