Never used 2.x but no high disk I/O observed with version 3.x so far by me. The ad is a small popup in the bottom right corner. You can close it immediately if you'd like. Have tried Panda for two weeks now and only one popup so far. Totally worth it considering it's the best AV on the market according to the last 9 months lab tests. And it's free!
Panda Security, the antivirus with greater detection capabilities than Kaspersky or McAfee: http://www.pandasecurity.com/mediac...urity-antivirus-greater-detection-capalities/
I also installed Panda Mobile Security on my tablet, but is it free? On google play it says free but now it says only for 7 days. I'm confused.
Internet Addict, if you will look at the bottom of the page for that application on Google Play, you will see the following: "(*) Performance optimizer, Privacy Auditor and Anti-Theft are totally FREE features. Panda Mobile Security FREE version also includes a 7-days trial of Antivirus protection.". Now, the rest of their description doesn't talk about anything other than free. So I am admittedly confused there as well. I can only assume it is just one of those applications that deal with data theft, and not a major security application. I use the Avast application, and I believe that it has anti-theft options for optional pay. Maybe your Panda is just the other way around.
Thanks, Countryboy15. Well that's kind of a shame because I love Panda Free for the desktop. Guess I'll switch back to AVG.
No problem at all. I haven't used the AVG application, but if it is only an antivirus perhaps you can keep Panda around just for the anti-theft protection.
So the whole "I can't get infected because I use a MAC" myth has morphed to become "I can't get infected because I'm using android"?
I second that, Android AV are as important as registry cleaner boosters for Windows. Back to topic: Panda Cloud AV is dead, try the other thread ...
Okay WTH? Why does this thread have morphed to become controversies of using AV protection on Android system? Dead?
As long as it does not auto-update to the new version it is not dead, and that feature usually never works... /E
Wow, I'm looking all over their site, and cannot find the Panda Free Antivirus 2015. Searching for in on Google just takes me to their downloads page, and the free AV is nowhere to be found. Searching for it on their website just leads to the download page as well.

You can get the Pro version for 6 months free: http://sharewareonsale.com/s/panda-cloud-antivirus-pro-sale
Thanks for the link. BTW, when did the web filter start using 31meg of ram? In the past I thought it was only 2-3meg. Edit: I think this latest version of the URL filter has a memory leak or something. It's currently using 159meg on my machine. Guess I will uninstall it for now.
This is an old problem with Panda. Tried the actual Panda Free Antivirus 15.0.1 on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and had several BSOD events (PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA (NNSHttp.sys)) this week. There's neither a solution nor a workaround for this problem but to uninstall Panda. This NNSHttp.sys trouble goes around for more than 4 years now.
