    Hi guys,

We are pleased to announce the release of SecureAPlus beta v3.2.2.

In this version, we have integrated VirusTotal to Application Whitelisting message prompt. Previously, when users attempt to install or run any program that is not found in the trusted list, the Application Whitelisting message popup will appear, displaying Universal AV scan result as well as prompt the user whether to trust and allow the program to run.

    uav_result.png

Now, if Universal AV does not have the sample file, it will display the VirusTotal scan result instead of Universal AV.

    vt_result.png

If Virustotal does not have the sample file, users will have the option of submitting it to VirusTotal by clicking on the hyperlink.

Other bugs fixes and enhancements are as follows:

    - Fixed- After clicking on "Complete Scan" button manually, the Universal AV scan results may show fewer infected files than the actual number of infected files at times.
    - Fixed - Certain portion of SecureAPlus Main Console's display flickers on some computers.
    - Change the header of the Universal AV virus alert from "Threat detected!" to "Threat detected by Universal AV!".
    - Only users in the Trusted Account list are allowed to modify the content in the "Manage User Rights".
    - Add "Internet Download Manager", "BitTorrent", "qBittorent" and "uTorrent" to the Restricted Application list.

Note: If you are interested to beta test this version, please install this beta version over the existing Freemium version 3.2.1. This version merges both the freemium and beta version so that if there is any subsequent update for Freemium or beta version and your setting is automatic software update, SecureAPlus will automatically update accordingly.

If you are interested to beta test this version, join us as a beta tester now at https://secureaplusbeta.secureage.com/
You can go to https://secureaplusbeta.secureage.com/Beta2/betaportal_download.php to download beta v3.2.2 and go to https://secureaplusbeta.secureage.com/Beta2/betaportal_changelog.php to view the changelog.

Please feel free to comment and suggest :)

    Cheers,
    sinlam

I have upgraded to beta v3.2.2, but for me I have yet to notice any change. Probably, so subtle...or I don't get a file that needs checking at Virus Total. ;)

Thank you Tarnak for testing v3.2.2 :) The key changes is mainly the Application Whitelisting message prompt. Yes, you won't notice the change if Universal AV has all the sample files on your machine ;)

I thought so...but I did get this response after installing the latest version of SAP, when the HMP scan ran at reboot.

Hi Tarnak, sorry I don't quite understand your comment. Does SecureAPlus latest beta version has affected HitmanPro? Or are you asking why SecureAPlus is not prompting new files?

Obviously, one of the AV databases, that HMP uses, sees the SAP files, and wants to upload them. That is all. No biggie.

When do you plan to remove ClamAV from the Cloud? is really a pain and it give too many FP's, at least make it optional.

    Hi guys,

It is our pleasure to announce the release of SecureAPlus Version 3.2.3.

In this version, we have incorporated VirusTotal to Application Whitelisting message prompt. Previously, when users attempt to install or run any program that is not found in the trusted list, the Application Whitelisting message popup will appear, displaying Universal AV scanning result as well as prompting the user whether to trust and allow the program to run. In this new version, if Universal AV does not have the sample file, it will display the VirusTotal scan result instead of Universal AV.

    vt_result.png

If VirusTotal does not have the sample file, users will have the option of submitting it to VirusTotal by clicking on the hyperlink.

    vt_scan.png

If you choose to upload the sample file to VirusTotal, you will see this upload sample file to VirusTotal screenshot.

    vt_upload.png

Please note that the VirusTotal Scan result will stay as "Unknown" during the scanning process. But once VirusTotal has completed the scanning process, you will see the scan result as shown below.

    vt_scan_result.png

You can click on the text, "VirusTotal detection ratio" to see detailed VirusTotal scan results.

Other bugs fixes and enhancements are as follows:

    1. Fixed - After clicking on "Complete Scan" button manually, the Universal AV scan results may show fewer infected files than the actual number of infected files at times.
    2. Fixed - Certain portion of SecureAPlus Main Console's display flickers on some computers.
    3. Change the header of the Universal AV virus alert from "Threat detected!" to "Threat detected by Universal AV!".
    4. Only users in the Trusted Account list are allowed to modify the content in the "Manage User Rights".
    5. Add "Torch" browser, "Internet Download Manager", "BitTorrent", "qBittorent" and "uTorrent" to the Restricted Application list.
    6. Default browser is automatically included in the "Restricted Application" list.

You can download SecureAPlus v3.2.3 or view the latest changelog at https://secureaplus.secureage.com/Main/secureaplus_download.php.

If you already have version 3.2.1 installed on your computer and you did not change the default software update setting, your existing version will be updated to version 3.2.3 automatically upon your next reboot of your computer.

If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to post it here or email to secureaplus@secureage.com.

    Cheers,
    sinlam

Hi guest, are you referring to Clamwin? Universal AV is using Clamwin and Offline AV is using ClamAV.

In this new version, you can also choose to disable the "Good News" message prompt which appears after each reboot of your computer.

    release_v3.2.3_gdnews.png

    1. Click "Settings" on SecureAPlus Main Console.

    2. At Universal AV settings dialog, click on "Message Popup" tab.

    3. To disable the message prompt, click on the checkbox of "Show message prompt" to remove the green tick. Then click on the "Apply" button.

Hi guest, we have turned off Clamwin's heuristic engine recently. This should reduce the FPs significantly based on the outcome of our several testing. You may want to test it again.
