    You're right. I can't argue with that :)

I thought that changelog info: "EIS: Fixed a firewall related bug in updater." is related to bug with network access. If isn't, I apologize for the confusion and misinformation.

Enter offline mode via the tray icon and leave it again. Network should be working fine now. The old block rules are just still in effect.

    Fabian,

    A couple of things:

Can you post the last 2 beta update changes?

Since Patch Tuesday EIS beta has stopped working. I know this has been posted on your forum but wanted to post here in case others are having the same problem. After reboot the product does not start. It appears part of the problem may be that the a2service is unable to start. When I try to start manually it fails with error 1067. The event logs have entries to the same effect, for example:

Faulting application name: a2start.exe, version: 9.0.0.4324, time stamp: 0x53e52a80
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
    Exception code: 0xc0000005

The Emsisoft Protection Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 7 time(s).

I would be willing to provide further info if needed.

EDIT: I reinstalled EIS today after removing the lastest ESET beta. It went through the setup and scan and then showed the lastest version in the Overview.
This is a Windows 7 Pro x64 virtual machine (VMware). A Windows 8.1 Pro x64 VM is not having this issue.

The only other security software installed is EMET 5, release version.

Also found changelogs on your website.

Thanks for fixing this problem yesterday, 8/15. Now working great again, love the product.

It's been a long time from my last post here...
Since then I've been trying to use every beta version (9.0.0.4283 -> 9.0.0.4324 -> 9.0.0.4391 ->9.0.0.4433). Almost everything is working fine for me, aside from little incomplete translation in Polish language. Almost everything...
Regrettably, even last beta caused at my computer same problems which was posted:
    http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/1...ft-internet-security-90-public-beta/?p=116364

The main issue is that my internet connection is sloooooooooow with enebled firewall. Furthermore, the CPU usage is pretty high during browsing internet and sometimes did not decrease after closing my Firefox:
    zużycie CPU.png

Is it more common problem among the beta testers? I'm asking because the issue "EIS: Browsing might be slow with enabled firewall" isn't at the changelog anymore.

Is CPU load constantly high or only spikes of less than 1 - 5 seconds?

Most of the time I see a spikes (aprox. 25-30%) which duration is a few second (5-8 sec) when web page is loading. I saw a smaller spikes even after closing the internet browser (higher values are caused by starting a Firefox, load a web page and close it)

I can't reproduce any of your findings on any of our test systems. There are CPU spikes, but they are nowhere near as severe as the ones you are seeing. Have you done anything unusual on your system? Disabled certain services for example? Or did you import excessive amounts of rules into EIS? Like huge custom hosts block lists for example? Did you update to newer versions via the online update or did you actually reinstall EIS at one point? We had a lot of updater fixes over the last builds so it is not unthinkable that the firewall driver wasn't updated properly and you are still using the faulty version that causes excessive CPU load on network traffic.

Hmmm, I haven't done nothing unusual on my system. So I need to do an investigation about it.
As regards the method for installation: recently I've done a clean install of EIS with proper uninstalling previous version and installing the new one without importing configuration. I'll try one more thing: restore a system partition image from time before I've installed EIS first time.

I have had EAM installed for over three months now and cannot find anywhere that it tells me which version number I am running. If it is given in the GUI anywhere could someone please point me to it. Many thanks.

Open the gui to the main page. At the bottom of the Scan box, is a grayish box with "License" in it. Under the days left, there should be an "x" after the renew. Click on the x and it will change to the version no.

Thanks Tarnak :thumb: Never thought to click on that. Age catching up with me.

@ Pete My GUI doesn't show that, perhaps a difference between EAM and EIS?
