Did you use the Hide Icon feature of the Alert tray icon or did you select a feature of the tray area in Windows?

That problem is fixed (or should be) in build 78 of CTP3.

It took 3 reboots on my machine before it stopped burying it's tray icon. Windows 7X64 Ultimate.

I selected customize from the desktop taskbar. Then I chose show icon, and notifications for HMPA. It buried it's icon anyways the first two boots. It stopped burying it's icon on the third boot. I'm using Windows 7X64 Ultimate.

Burying taskbar icons is a feature of Windows, not a feature of Alert. Can you try burying other icons?

Is there any component of HMPA that would interfere with a privacy VPN service using OpenVpn protocol? I use Boleh VPN, and last night it started leaking my DNS. I normally use Online Armor firewall, but I had just began testing Eset Smart Security and HMPA. It had never leaked my DNS before so I figured Eset Smart Security was the cause. Later it went from leaking my DNS to killing the internet if I even connected to my VPN. I figured for sure it was due to Eset Smart Security beta because logically I figured the firewall component of their beta product would be a more logical cause than HMPA. I decided to roll back my machine again so I could use Online Armor FW with HMPA instead of ESS. Then I tried using Boleh VPN service again, and it killed the internet every time I connected to any route. At that point HMPA was the only thing new I had introduced to my setup before the problems with my VPN began. I just rolled my machine back again to an image without HMPA, and my VPN is working fine now. Also I think it's worth noting that Boleh VPN client crashed 4 times when using HMPA. It would crash as soon as I disconnect from a route. I did not get an application crash dump so looks like i'm going to have to configure my machine to produce application crash dumps now. I don't have HMPA installed now because I would like to use my VPN.

Why should I bury other icons? I didn't want HMPA to bury it's icon. I wanted the icon to be visible.

What about HMPA reporting that Firefox browser was being protected even though I had disabled all protection associated with Firefox? Have you tried reproducing that yet?

Do the Firefox icons under the green and blue tile have a black background? You have to disable both the Intruder monitor (= green border) and Exploit Mitigations (= blue border) for the firefox.exe process (choose Disable mitigations on the blue window).

Its no big deal because after rebooting a third time the icon will begin to show itself as it should. I guess 3rd time is a charm, but this has been the behavior I have been seeing since CTP2.

Thank you for the thorough explanation.

    A few questions:
    1. What do you mean with 'leaking my DNS'?
    2. Did you add Boleh VPN application to the list of mitigated programs?

Yes, I disabled both of them. I would suggest you give an option though to disable both protection measures for the browser in the application window that only contains browsers. That may confuse some users that fail to realize there are two different protection features that must be disabled. I was using FF 31 at the time it occurred.

DNS leak in the context I am using it in means my internet traffic is being routed through my ISP's DNS instead of through the DNS used by my VPN service which compromises anonymity. This site will let you know if your DNS is leaking if you are connected to a privacy VPN service, or something like Tor. https://www.dnsleaktest.com/

No, I did not add Boleh VPN to HMPA's list of mitigated programs. I did not check to see if HMPA added it.

Is there a C:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert\ folder? If so, delete it.

The / character is not scrambled when typed using the numeric keypad on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 -x64.

When numlock is off, the keypad its not scrambled. When numlock is on, the keypad should be scrambled. I believe this is also how other keystroke encryption software work.

When testing CTP2 on my home computer last night Windows 7 64bit.
I kept getting a (0x1E) BSOD caused by HMPALERT.sys - not done any windbg and don't have that laptop handy but just thought I'd let you know!
