According to Pale Moon forum the next ESR cycle will be based on Firefox 31, which will have Australis. (source: Moonchild) Currently Firefox is at v28 (release channel) while Pale Moon is at v24.4.1 (release notes)
I switched from the 64 bit to the 32 bit version of Palemoon and memory has dropped 175,000kb while while watching videos with adblockedge, ghostery and noscript addons. Before memory would spike up to 350,000kb and now in 32 bit, it's around 225,000kb max. Also the browsing is quicker and snappier.
When I update Pale Moon - currently version 24.4.2 and go to Options > Update > Show Update History I see ((null)) What is meant by ((null)) since I don't see this when updating Firefox?

Noticed some interesting changes to latest Pale Moon browser. Has added more granular referer control preferences. Be careful limiting referers as websites may refuse to service you if an unexpected referer is found. [about:config] • network.http.sendRefererHeader • network.http.referer.spoofSource • network.http.referer.trimmingPolicy • network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy Removed from browser Options dialog box is Google SafeBrowsing listed as a privacy fix. No more domain checking sent to Google. The in-content preferences (about: preferences) page has been completely removed in this version. When checking for updates from [about Pale Moon] box puts the user in control & never downloads anything directly from the about box. It will pop up the larger update window when an update is found. This allows anyone to only download updates when they explicitly choose to do so.

Does this mean we won't get the tracking protection feature? =( I do really appreciate Moonchild's objectives, especially since I've witnessed Australis UI myself and I'll have to also admit it is retarded. I mean, I can tolerate Metro UI and I never really have problems with Chrome UI, but Australis UI is just a no.
According to ghacks.net Firefox Tracking Protection relies on Safe Browsing. If you have disabled the feature, you cannot use Tracking Protection. In Pale Moon browser Google Safe Browsing was removed from Options dialog box.
I just thought that the tracking protection feature also has hardcoded components forged in the browser itself. Good to know if it's 100% cloud.
A very informative and interesting article, and thanks for posting It may help also to build more confidence in, and dispel some doubts about Pale Moon.

Some of us disable the feature as the telemetry is phoned home to Mozilla. These are advanced user settings - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-phishing-and-malware-protection-work See key section: What information is sent to Mozilla or its partners when Phishing and Malware Protection are enabled?
