    Hi

I have some problems with some PDF files and the new beta NOD32, 2000.11b.

I can't open this pdf file: http://www.peugeot.dk/brochurer/pdf/Priser-varevogne.PDF with HTTP checking (Active and IE 6 + WinXP), but if I diable HTTP checking, it opens fine

And I can't scan my Office XP CD, the scan goes fine, half the way, but then NOD displays some "damaged arcives" and then shuts down !! ...this is weird, the "old" non beta ran through this CD with no problems.

Does anyone else had similar problems ??

The pdf file opened for me in the browser using Firefox and NOD beta.

Did you turn off http scanning and try that?

I just tried IE and it opened also.

Hmmm ...this is weird, if I hit Ctrl+ F5 a couple of times, the file shows up.

I know Ctrl+F5 updates the page from the server, but it's still weird, and pretty anoying if I have to hit Ctrl+F5 to read some websites/PDF files

I am also not able to open that pdf file if IE is set at "Higher efficiency" in IMON but it does open ok if IE is set at "Higher compatibility".

Strange. My IE is set to higher efficiency and it opens for me.

Well, that is a bit odd. It also works for me using another machine with the same version of IE and "Higher efficiency".

I'll have to check to see if any of the IE settings are different?

I don't think this is related to NOD, I started noticing a problem opening pdf files with IE immediately after the august cumulative update for IE. I think it is related to MS's handling of the fix for download.ject vulnerability.

Yes I think I updated acrobat reader about the same time as that IE update, one of the two is possibly the cause, I never thought it was NOD and I still don't, it's either Adobe or MS.

I'm not sure what app is "at fault", but I can also confirm the behavior outlined by donlon. The document begins to download, I see the Adobe Reader splash screen, a blank screen appears, a little progress bar appears at the bottom of the currently blank Adobe Reader window, it reaches what appears to be 100%, and then nothing. The window just stays blank. But if I Ctrl-F5 as stated it will eventually appear. I'm running WinXP Pro SP2, NOD32 2.12.0, and Adobe Reader 6.0.2 (5/18/2004).

I get the same problem with IE6 and Adobe Acrobat 6. With Opera it loads up fine first time however. Looks like an IE bug to me
