I want to thank much the developers of VS for their dedication, passion, and vision! I don't know of any anti-executable with a class that has a freeware version!

Thank you ifacedown and Baldrick! BTW, there is still a small bug that is causing a few issues. I inserted over 100 lines of debug code, that will tell me exactly where the last issue is, so I should know in a couple of hours. It should be an easy fix once I can isolate where the issue is.

The good news is that I have "proofread" and optimized the heck out of the code in trying to isolate this last issue over the last couple of weeks, so it really should run great once we figure out this last issue!

    Hi Dan

So far 2.49 is running a lot better - congrats on getting it sorted.

One thing I have noticed is that items in Web Apps are ignored. For instance I had Palemoon entered their but when I ran PM VS still popped up to allow it.

On the submission to Total Virus maybe this could be changed. For those on limited and or slow connections it takes for ever and for me I have disabled it. Perhaps a limit could be placed on the file size with an option to proceed.

    One small problem this morning.

I print from Word to a PDF printer. It correctly popped up about the printer but then silently blocked the rest of the process. I put it into training mode to learn but feel it should have noted the rest of the process.

    Hi Dan

+1 here to...have seen none of the previously seen issues so far...which is great...bit more testing to do but touch wood...looking good.

I don't think he wants that build posted here. You may want to check with him. TH already experienced problems with that build that lead to him having to remove VS in safe mode.

Sorry, I removed 2.51 for now, but after a little more testing I should be able to upload it again. TH was helping me test and he had some issues with it.

    Too late...I got it...but, I won't run off with it...LOL :)

P.S. You can always ask me to run a private test of a beta, to try from an XP user point of view.

I justed booted into another snapshot, which doesn't have VS installed.

I have HMP set to do a scan at boot. As you can see it picked up VS v2.51 that I downloaded to my desktop, earlier.

I quickly canceled the upload, because I don't think Dan wants it's signature out there on the HMP server. My HMP 'on demand scans', are always picking up any new downloaded exe, as I test betas, continually.

    Still having problems with 2.49.

Icon disappears from screen and sys tray sometime after starting the machine. Never notice its disappearance. Then just left with the background process running but it blocks programs from running without warning. Has to be killed TM to continue. Restarting VS only starts the background process and the saga continues.

Cool, thank you for letting me know. Once I figure out a fix for this big issue, I will post a new version and this issue should be resolved too. Believe it or not, VS almost bug free. It has been one heck of a ride, thank you for all of your help! I will post a new version asap.

I do feel for you Dan. It is a bit like ten pin bowling. Everytime you stand up we send another ball to knock you over again.

Hope this new version goes well for you.

Thank you, I appreciate that! Yeah, it has been a crazy ride, but for the most part it has been a lot of fun.

A quick update... the issue is going to have to be resolved in the CPN dll, so our C++ guy is going to have to do that for us. Also, the sandboxing feature is pretty much ready, but I have yet to run any real viruses sandboxed, but I will see a little later today when I test it. BTW, the sandboxing feature only works for Vista and above. We could have gone with an older sandboxing method, but this is a great method from Microsoft that should work really well. Also, the sandboxing feature does not work for installers, since that would require advanced virtualization, although we might include that at some point. But then again, out of all of the viruses I have seen and tested, I do not ever recall seeing one that was an actual installer, so I think we are good to go!

While waiting for the CPN fix, I added quite a few new features. Hopefully we can test the new features and make sure there are not any new bugs. Then we can add the cpn fix and we will be good to go! I finished up the sandbox feature and added an automatic allow by Parent Process feature. Both of these are only for Vista and up. If you are running XP and see a Sandbox button, please let me know. Also, XP is not quite as thoroughly tested as Vista and up, but from what I can tell, it is in great shape.

I also added an Edit Snapshot feature, and refined the whole Password feature. If there is a VoodooShield password, the user will not be able to do certain things like start the task manager or mmc without knowing the password. If anyone discovers a way for the user to kill VS when it has a password, please let me know!

The registration issues should be fixed as well, along with some other refinements and tweaks.

I should hear something on the cpn very soon, and this will fix the silent blocking issue once and for all, assuming there is a fix for it. If not, we have a backup plan.

    Thank you!

    Hi Dan

Do you ever take a break...?

Sounds like some super features to try. Will look to install this later this evening and then give it some wellie over the next few days.

Will feedback if I find anything untoward.

Now, have a bit of a break whilst awaiting the CPN fix...a couple of minutes should do the trick...:argh:

    Regards
