Im using Kingsoft aka WPS , it is the closest i found to MS Office and fully support Office files

 

When you say OpenOffice might offer better file format support over LibreOffice, what specifically do you mean? Have you had better luck with OO reading MS suite files than LO?

 

As mentioned before, if you want compatibility to MS Office, use Kingsoft Office locally installed, or use Office Online Apps provided by microsoft online. Both are free.

 

If you are a college or grad student use basic office online. If you need something more powerful just install your Office in Virtual Machine. I run Office XP on Windows XPSP 1, boots in 8 seconds, uses minimal ram and runs flawlessly.

 

Thanks, I saw but I wanted to know precisely what Mrkvonic had in mind with that sentence. The contrast of OpenOffice to LibreOffice is what I'm interested in and from what I've gathered, OO can save files in some older formats not widely used anymore but he's done testing on both suites IIRC.
