Does anyone ever get a 0x01 Error?
I get this sometimes in my scheduled backups.

I use scheduled Incremental backups daily and didn't notice this error. What does the log file say, when this happens?

Whenever I get that error, no log is recorded.
I think it just totally fails, including the log.

I get these errors all the time. The icon just sits in the tray and doesn't want to do anything.
When I open up Reflect to show progress, it says: Creating snapshot, please wait. And it stays on 0%.

I have to kill the Reflect process, or it never ends.
    I then re-run the task.

That sounds more like a VSS anomaly than anything else...

I was thinking about the same. You should check VSS logs and see if there are any errors logged.

What is a VSS error and how do I check VSS logs?

By the way. Reflect doesn't make any logs when I get this error.

You can right-click on My computer and select Manage. After that you select Event viewer - Custom views - Administrative events. Then check if there are any errors with source being VSS. It should happen at the time of failed backups.

I had this error at the time of the last backup failure.

    Macrium Reflect version 5.3.7086 released - 10 July 2014

    http://updates.macrium.com/reflect/v5.0/v5.3.7086/details5.3.7086.htm

    === Begin Quote ===

    Date 10th July 2014

    What's new? 5.3.7086:
•Imaging in Windows PE now will skip bad sectors.
Bad sectors will now be automatically skipped when creating disk images in the Windows PE rescue environment. The image will complete without failure.

    Bug Fixes:
•Explorer context menu not working for mapped network shares
When browsing an image using the Explorer context menu Reflect could fail to open the image file if the network path was mapped to a drive letter. This has been resolved.

•Track zero not writable error when creating USB rescue media
Reflect could incorectly fail to create USB rescue media if the boot sector of a USB flash drive was write protected. This has been resolved.

•Fixed bug preventing SQL DB restore to current time.
The SQL restore wizard could crash when restoring a database to the current time. This has been resolved.

•'Backup Windows' will now only include the actual boot disk in a UEFI booting systems where multiple EFI system partitions exist.
Multiple GPT disks with multiple EFI system partitions would cause incorrect selection of non-booting disks. This has been resolved.

    •Windows 8.0/8.1 Redeploy improvements.
Improved the Win 8.0/8.1 SATA/AHCI configuration steps.

    === End Quote ===

    PS-1:
I am still very new to Macrium Reflect, so I hope that I am giving right link and info.
    PS-2:
I just got an alert from my Pro version about this new version.
    PS-3:
This will be my first update to a newer version. I hope that I am going to do it right.

I'm having trouble with v5.3.7086 update.
Setup is asking me to enter my license key. It is already displayed in the box.
When I click "Next" it says my key is already installed.

I have never been asked to input a license key in to upgrade before now.
Is there a problem with this upgrade?

When I clicked next it told me who it was licenced to and continued OK.

Was your key displayed to you?
Mine was, and it told me it was already installed, which it is, of course.
I think the upgrade setup has changed somewhat. It is more like a new setup that I was doing.

Anyway, after going back and forwards a few times, I got though the upgrade. :)

    Yes it was.

I assume I need to upgrade my PE Rescue disc separately now as well.

I don't know about that. Is there an updated PE?

There is an upgraded PE. I believe you need to go to the add the boot menu, select none, and take out the old one, then go back and repeat selecting which PE you want.

I applied the new update. Now Macrium crashes immediately after starting the program.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Mine is crashing as well after update this morning. Downloaded new version. First did a repair, but it still crashed. Then reinstalled (leaving existing settings and logs), and it crashed again.

Here is the error information posted in Windows 8.1 on the install

The registry value of the new version 5.3.7086 is not correct, as it seems. There is a thread about it at the Macrium forum:
    http://support.macrium.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10755

I have seen this too. For example in CCleaner > Tools > Uninstall where it shows version 5.2.
The Reflect program itself shows 5.3.7086 though:

I still don't understand why the Linux bootable CD says version 5.3.7051 from 24 June 2014.
