Obviously this thing is not updating daily...
It says last update 2014-07-05 two days ago...
the software name "total security" is a bit misleading, since the software lacks firewall for example..
anyways, i keep on testing this for a while..
seems to be quite light weight on resources (even while doing virus scan with all engines enabled) which is very nice indeed.

    Greetings stode.
1: Where is your region of living? What other security software you also have installed [Peerblock, Comodo, web filters, firewalls, etc?]
2: Firewall is being considered to be added, for now, according to Qihoo, Protection module is capable of handling major network threats. Firewall is in popular demand, hoping to see new release

    1. I'm from Finland, as for the firewall, I'm using private firewall, and that's the only one running in the background along with 360 TS.
    2. Would be neat, it could use Windows' own firewall, with just a GUI frontend for it in TS perhaps ?

1: is TS allowed in all respects in private firewall? Firewall and process detection?
2: Qihoo considers Windows firewall to be already capable so your suggestion is likely to happen, otherwise they will develop their own firewall. We shall see...

Obviously the cloud analysis can't resolve legitimate files.

To speed up the process, would you be so kind to zip those files into one RAR archive, password protect it and send qihoo support an email stating what's inside, that screenshot and password to open the archive, so the whitelist goes faster?

Obviously this software isn't updating the virus definitions too frequently..
3 days and no new updates, avira db is 3 days old.
Tried to update it manually but the app blocks moving data to it's directories..
I think I'm gonna uninstall this, not feeling too safe with this. :p

i would like to use this software except on my system it takes 5 plus minutes to detect a file that has been copied/written.

The beta looks promising, but I really do hope they decide to put the old "Examine" button back on the Start tab, The new "Experience" button just makes absolutely no sense to me.

Hopefully if enough people send in their feedback, they'll put back the old "Examine" button.

Maybe it's part of their phylosophy or something, experience a new, better,faster... experience?
    Anyway, voted for:
1: 1-click booster, because that sounds useful
2: file schreder, using it, and if you want to get rid of sensitive material
3: network speed, if possible to increase network performance, or test. I know it already can in the Speedup module, but still :)

This thing is heavy with security mode enabled. I wonder what happened from having all the engines enabled in IS and having TS full enabled. I know they added some stuff but wow.

Disable Bitdefender, enable Avira in custom. If that doesn't change, go to balanced mode...

The first impressions were quite good, but after the first scan

    6 unknown files.JPG

360 TS 5.0.0.1930 Beta found 6 unknown files, so I clicked "Select all" and "Upload" buttons,

    No threats found.JPG

and after that I clicked the blue "Analysis" text, but nothing found in here.

As I've badmouthed Qihoo TS previously (and justifiably), I wanted to do an update to see if any of the previous holes were filled:

1). Malware Startup protection- Finally this was done. When malware tries to autostart itself directly via the addition of a registry entry to autostart, the Proactive module alerts with the default action of Block. Excellent.
2). Not so excellent is the ability of a script (usually vbs) to add an autostart entry to itself which in turn will run a malware file. Protection then depends on whether or not the malware spawn is detected by definitions.
3). Malware playing with Policies- TS will detect and prevent malware from disabling Regedit and TaskManager, but surprisingly ignores the disabling of Command Prompt (this is important as it will stop the use of Safe Mode with Command Prompt if that is ever needed to remove malware).

Suggestion- If you are using TS currently, please switch to this Beta build.

It's a bit weird my installed v4.0.0.2067 stopped updating, and it didn't even notify about new v5 beta version..
This is not the way to go, that user has to download manually the new program versions from the web-page, instead
the major updates should comethru in the previously installed versions..

Well, that's not a reason to prevent older versions from updating the virus databases.

That is correct. How many days are your vdefs lagging behind?
Do note that 2 per day updates is still not raised to a higher amount, not that I know of...
What other security programs you have installed?

They're not outdated anymore, since I updated to the new v5 beta..
But after doing the update it still says the version number is 4.0.0.2067.
    Is that normal?

    edit:
Seems like it only updated the virus databases with the new installation download,
the main program seems to be the same.
There's no "experience" button in my start screen, but the old "Examine" ..

Didn't you already ask about this from me? :)
I have Private Firewall running in the background.
Got Malwarebytes Antimalware installed, but it's not running in the background, realtime.
    Only manual ondemand scans.

Are you sure you clicked on BETA link, and not on general download button on 360safe.com?

Heh.. I downloaded via the general download button link..
Now I got the new beta installed..
It's nice to see they added in the update information box the
dates for the avira/bitdefender databases, but it should also include the actual database versions,
    not just the date...
    so far so good..

    edit:
the user should be able to remove/disable all the facebook login and other hype from
    the gui.
    that's a bit annoying.

It's been reported to Qihoo to include optional options regarding this, so far nothing on that, it is entirely up to them...
