Found this internet marketing ad using the ESET robot. ESET would probably like to know about this. Screen shot below.

First, it's better to post this on ESET's official forum if you haven't. Second, this robot strikes a heavy resemblance with Sonny. Ever watched "I, Robot"? Now who came out first I wonder? And third, does this really all that matter to deserve such press? Copy-pasteing stuff and usage of intellectual properties without explicit permissions of the original authors/copyright holders is a very common practice these days that not even copyright laws can do anything about it. I am more interested about the possible fraud of that ad, personally.

    Hello,

If you can send me a PM with the details (such as the URL) of the above picture, I'll forward to the appropriate folks at ESET.

I believe that the ESET Android logo, "Sonny" from the 2004 version of I, Robot, and the Svedka Vodka robot were all designed by the same agency. Obviously, each one is a work-for-hire, and owned by the company in question. ESET, for example, has a registered trademark on the ESET Android.

    Regards,

That makes sense. I never know about the Svedka Vodka and that they have a similar robot as well. SweX why didn't you ever tell me about this before? >=V

I had no idea mate....probably because I don't drink alcohol. ;) But I do buy bread, pasta, and other stuff made by Lantmännen though. :D
