360 IS is still a great product.I loved the TS version. But the biggest hiccup I have they must provide either avira or BD engine on by default with the installer like IS.I mean because if they dont it becomes a cloud product!!!

    Apart from that,its superb!!

What bugs have been fixed? More details? I reported some issues with the IS,suspicious file uploads fail in the IS.I have been hammering them about turning on the avira and BD in total security for some time and they are telling me they are working on it and I have reported some update delays that I had tracked down myself.Hope this helps them! Love their products. :)

Installed 360 TS on a fresh installation of Windows 7 32 bit for a friend. Everything was fine up until after the first initial scan was run. Rebooted after the scan, and security center says that Qihoo is not installed, but it was running in the tray. Opened the menu up, and Qihoo says that no scans have been run. I immediately uninstalled it.

yeah seems 360 TS is not that flawless- couple days ago uninstalled it and next day after booting Bitdefender TS suddenly stopped working, while together they ran without any conflict... had to reinstall Bitdefender.

Installed 360TS on two PCs (Win7) a couple of weeks ago. All seemed great. Liked it a lot. Did the cleanup and speedup things and it did make the PCs faster. Very pleased. Then a couple of days later after the daily cleanup they suggest, I found that BOTH PCs had lost the .exe file for European Truck Driver Sim 2. At that point I uninstalled 360TS. Certainly the weak point of this anti-virus is not seeing what it is doing. Have learned my lesson and am now back with BD free and Malwarebytes Pro.

Well I just dumped this off the first working PC I installed it on.

Everything seemed fine for a couple of days, then suddenly it started 'disappearing' my games, and some apps. Spintires disappeared, it said it was a trojan.. Yeah right.. I whitelisted it, and it disappeared again. I whitelisted it, checked exclusions, and it disappeared it again. Then the SLOW updates from BD engine.. Then recovery from hibernation it runs a long update. This was the IS version, the TS version was much more of a mess.. This product is a joke IMO, I cannot believe people actually run it. Literally 10% of my steam games disappeared within 48 hours of running this, and whitelisting wouldn't even work correctly.. I'm just glad I didn't deploy it on 8 machines here.

Same as usual, hasn't changed. ESET. Most don't progress past my test machine, or the initial 'working' machine. Only F-Secure, Eset have been deployed beyond those initial machines if I remember correctly.

Anyone can test the 2 offline resident engines I mean bitdefender and avira?? do they provide same level of protection as the primary AV product does?

EDIT: Did a test of IS version without internet and just with the BD engine got hardly a 40% detection ratio, dont know what's on with that? Similar results with TS.

I ran 360 IS for a good few months & never ever had any of the issues you say you have had, it never affected my steam games in the slightest, it does detect hacked steam_api.dll's but that is because some of them can be dodgy, 360IS just sat there protecting my system with no issues at all, also the white listing works fine, sorry but you just seem to be a serial complainer always moaning that apps that work for millions of other users must be crap as they don't work on your systems, maybe the problems lies with your systems & not the apps themselves.

Or maybe I'm a paid, trained professional that NOTICES things? It's my job to find issues, and fix them, so obviously - that's what I do. Also note, several others posted 360 making false positive detections as well here, and failing to properly whitelist. So apparently my findings aren't exclusive.. Trust me, it was on a vanilla working machine after 'succeeding' on my test machine. It failed once it was pushed to a working machine.

they are chinese company and main users - chinese with different programs compared to us, thus many false positives for us

That's the most simple, logical conclusion, and hence, probably the most correct. It's a regional product, probably fine there, and probably not so fine for everyone else. MkVIR was a fantastic product - for Poland, but not so good when it went global. It offered near 100% detection of 'polish' threats, but less than 70% for other non-regional threats.

AVs capable to offer protection from regional malwares only...

The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity. But not in that order.

95% of reported things here are located here:

    Main GUI>Virus Scan>Quarantine
Here you will find things that:
1: were recommended not to run automatically at startup to improve system boot speed
2: were removed from the system such as right mouse click menu entry
3: were removed as part of malware scan
4: were removed as suspected system modification [replacing default windows programs that do specific function, such as task manager, god mode shortcut, etc]
5: were removed as invalid shortcuts
6: were removed as part of Heuristics QVM
7: were removed as suspicious shortcuts [those not normally created pointing to right application]
8: If not found in Quarantine, then startup entry can be found in GUI>Speedup>Manual. From there, startup entries and services can be turned on or off. Simple.

Those entries can be whitelisted by placing checkmarks on those entries you want restored, AND checking "add to whitelist" before doing restoration.

Just because some false positives and/or suspicious items are detected does not mean the product does not work, is faulty or unfinished.

What I propose, instead of right away uninstalling, is to restore items you need, and send feedback GUI>Menu>Feedback and describe your problem.

Why? Well, because information is important to software engineers, who will review the problem reported, if applicable, will provide hotfix.
If uninstalling, then provide uninstall feedback as to why you uninstalled that software.

You don't like the way something looks, or does? A few words of "Hi, I would like to report that xyz feature does not work in [specify scenario]. My system is [OS, 32 or 64bit, RAM, HDD, CPU, additional security software]. Thank you for your consideration" is way more helpful than "your product sucks big time", "this does not work, uninstalled, will never use again", etc.....

Final note: false positives happen for a reason, programs or their components contain malware like behaviour code and sometimes it catches a bullet. Fortunately, it is quarantined and can be trusted, IF you are sure it is to be trusted.
Just because these things happen will not prevent experienced user from using, say, HerdProtect, HitmanPro, Qihoo, Comodo or whatever.

Please, take time to get familiarized with the product before dismissing it right away.
LOG history is your friend as well...

P.S. TS is International Version, not chinese translated version, meaning it is made specifically with International users in mind. Whitelist improvements are coming, no ETA yet, but it should be live within few months.

    Common sense.
But sometimes it's necessary to explain the obvious...

Which is why MkVIR failed. Their lab could keep up with Polish Reported/Found threats, but when they tried to expand worldwide they quickly found out that 4 analysts weren't enough.

So is it 100% confirmed that 360 IS will be discontinued and TS will be replacing it? I hope not. While the Avira engine is nice, I don't like all the cleaning junk bundled in.

At this time, IS will still get supported but the focus will be on TS as it is the flagship product, so the IS engine version will not get as much frequent update as TS gets.

360 Security Center Hi, if you're satisfied with Internet Security, feel free to stick with it. Total Security is based on Internet Security, except optimization tools are added!
