My old credentials would not work (as I suspect is by plan) and I had to reset password in order to enter.
During reset process, I noticed that login now requires email + password instead of the old username + password.
The return email I received from myavast@avast.com did not pass outlook.com's fraud detection filter, and I was warned of that, per the screenie below.
I did go forward with the reset process, despite the warning, and I have since logged in with my new password.

So, if we sign in with our Avast account details we don't need to change the forum password?

    TIA.

I have used their forum for years but it gave me a new name plus now I'm a newbie. Oh well, I don't have a problem with their protection...just using the forum right now.

You should be able to get back your original username and all your content.

I did not have a "myavast" account, so, all I had to do was request a password reset and it emailed a link that let me set a new password. The account I registered directly on the forum in Feb 2005 is accessible without any issue.

Still containing mixed content (encrypted and unencrypted). Not cool...

I am told that externally linked avatars are kinda hard to encrypt... ;)
