Hmmmm, As you can see the version is at the main screen. I've noticed, that if you're running a free trial version it could be covered by "Renew for free" text.

Or alternatively you can close the "Renew for free" link in the License block of the Overview screen to display the version number there.

That's just because Firefox is officially 32 bit only on Windows. It will happen on both x86 as well as x64 Windows OSes running the Firefox release versions.

I've noticed that I couldn't change the maximum logging records to 0 at main settings. It doesn't let me put a 0 value.

 

I've had this fairly regularly with Opera 22 recently. Opera opens then shuts momentarily and then opens and operates normally until I reboot and open Opera again. This doesn't happen every time though so I'm not sure how I can help pin this down for you.

The easiest way is to just tell Windows to write a crash dump if an application crashes. The easiest way to set this up is to follow our instructions here:

For Opera it appears to happen the first time you start it in each session. If that is true, you should be able to trigger the issue by just rebooting and opening Opera again.

 

Have had no major issues with the beta. Some minor issues include:

- The setting for "Notification on restart" makes no difference - the restart notifications always appear. Kind of annoying to have to continually close notification windows. Maybe an option on the notification window to "disable these notifications until next reboot" or something similar?
- I'm new to Emsisoft products. I stream movies via a wired SMB connection from my PC to a networked Dune media player. The firewall was blocking this connection and I couldn't figure out how to create a rule to allow it. I eventually uninstalled this beta and downloaded OA and was happy to see that OA showed me FAR more detail about my network connections and what was going on with network traffic. From there it was easy to see which port I needed to allow open, so I reinstalled the beta and created a new firewall rule, which solved the problem. I wish the same level of detail was available like it is in OA.
- I've never been a big fan of the flat UI theme and I think maybe there's a little too much white space being used (the UI could be tightened a little to use less space), but that's minor.

Overall, nice job.The important thing is the protection, and so far it's been great.

Yes...it is!

 

Please, don't obsess over memory usage too much. The value you will see there is completely random and largely depends on what file was scanned last more than anything, at least if you are running with the memory optimization on. Unless you can create the exact circumstances every time, you can't compare any of these numbers.

If you really want to get an idea how memory management in Windows works, I can recommend the TechNet talk that David Solomon gave a few years ago. It mostly refers to Windows XP but the same principals are used today with some additions like memory priorities. Yes I have had a few crashes of the latest version of Mozilla Firefox with the last 2 beta versions of EAM. I am using Win. 7 Pro SP1 x64. It is sporadic so nothing I can point to.

 

Two Mozilla employees were kind enough to help us out with getting the required information to fix this issue. An update will be available later this day.

 

Co-operation to defeat the bad guys - I want to leap, and dance, and clap my little hands!

Great news!

 

The fix for the browser crashes has been released via beta updates in the mean time. Just run the update and reboot and you should be good to go .

 

I´ve found an old article. HIPS = behavior blocker. A HIPS (or BB) is either policy based or expert based.

Feel free to replace HIPS with "policy-based behavior blocker" and behavior blocker with "expert-based behavior blocker" if you detest the HIPS and behavior blocker categorization that the general public has adopted in the past 12 years. Just be sure you aren't caught in a mental endless loop while doing so .

In the end my original statement still stands true no matter how you choose to call things.

Yes of course, but I like this categorization better.

On the other hand, HIPS can also be: anti-exe, anti exploit, or sandbox. So perhaps it´s indeed better to separate HIPS from BB.
