    wat0114,

I create differentials rather than incrementals so I haven't looked at scheduling incrementals. How have you been doing this? What is the command line? Interesting.

My terminology might be incorrect. It backs up changes only, so that might be differentials and not incrementals. Sorry for any confusion. My command line is as follows:

    Code:
    /b /uy /um /email:smtp.myisp.net*myemailname@myisp.net*myemailname@myisp.net /logmax:1000000 /base:I:\Storage_Backups\Backup_Storage01 /f:I:\Storage_Backups\Backup_Storage01-changes04 /v /desc:Storage01 drive backup changes only.

    @Stigg,

hope this helps regarding your email command line question...

If you want to send out via your Outlook.com email account you'll probably need to use stunnel. There's a KB article on using it with Gmail. I imagine it would be similar for Outlook.com, but I haven't tried it. You may need to include "protocol = smtp" and/or "sslVersion = TLSv1.2" in the configuration section.

This may also help: Set up an email app with Outlook.com (Apps that support POP3 and SMTP section)

    Thanks guys.
I will mess around with the email setup.

It is not important to me.
I just thought I would try it.

I was downloading the English updates, and I wasn't sure which installer I was going to use, then after downloading a number of installers, I received this message.

    ERROR:

Your account has been disabled due to excessive downloads. Please contact TeraByte for assistance.

    What da? :(

That happened to some of us a few years ago. Just email TeraByte Support and it will be fixed.

I emailed them and they replied to me that it has been enabled again, but they said that I can't download anything for a week or else my account will be disabled again.

About 6 different versions. They have over a dozen versions or more. I have only used it on 1 computer.
When I paid for this, I wasn't informed of any download restrictions, were you?

    Utter crap, in my opinion.
They give you access to all their downloads, but you get blocked if you download too many.
    Explain that...

When we were banned a few years ago there was a glitch in the download site. I download 7 items each month (in the one session) but not multiple versions of each app. Did you download multiple versions of IFW?

Edit... Not "each month". I meant each new version.

Terabyte Unlimited is a small company, so they might be a bit sensitive to prevent possible download link abuse. It's understandable.

    @ Hadron:
If you need only the english version, just download 'Image for Windows V2.xx (GUI) with IFD-GUI, IFL-GUI, and IFU-CUI' and you have an everything-included package...

    Hi roady :)

Great advice! I bought the whole package over 2 years ago. I do not upgrade every time a new version comes out, but the update policy is certainly amazing for minor version upgrades. I still use IFL V. 2.83 for the most part, but always nice to know if I decide to update, I can still download it even after 2 years, as long as it is still version 2.x. A great package of tools in my opinion.

    Have a good day :)

    Jim

I read somewhere on this forum where someone posted something about "fast startup" in Windows 8 and that you should disable it if you are using Image for Windows or else you will get data corruption, or something along those lines.
    Is that correct?

    Brian.
Should I disable it on all computers regardless of what imaging software I use?

Yes. I have disabled it on all our family's Win8 computers. It is using an imaging app's boot disks (or a WinPE) after a Windows shutdown that can cause corruption. Using the boot disks after a restart is no problem as Fast Startup is not activated by a restart.

I decided to select the "Validate" option prior to doing a full backup, but about half way through the validation process, the interface window disappeared although when I looked in Task Scheduler, the task is still running and imagew64.exe is still running.

    Is this normal?

No. Is it gone from the task bar also? Did the backup finish (the log should show)?

It is gone from the Taskbar, but the process (imagew64.exe) is still running as is the task.
Where do I find the log?
