What is your security setup these days?

I have tried Yandex few months ago and never saw it detect anything. Downloaded samples were detected by Kaspersky on VT but the browser let them through.

 

Decided to see how AppGuard would work on Win 8.1. It works well so I bought it. Now trying Sandboxie free to see how that works. Might have a winning combination here. Don't sense any slowdown and that's a key point with me and security software.

Windows 8.1 64 bit:

1. Surf with standard account
2. UAC on High
3. Windows firewall
4. Router w/firewall
5. Firefox with appropriate addons
6. AppGuard
7. Sandboxie free
8. Windows Defender
9. Macrium Reflect free for fresh images.

- Windows Fire Wall set to block outbound connections
- AppLocker with hardened rules (e.g. signed & hashes)
- Disabled risk-ware services and locked all user autoruns
- Added EMET and policy templates for vulnerable programs
- Run browser and plug-ins in protected mode & download block

On-demand Sysinternal tools
- Autoruns (check signature & compare old.arn)
- ProcessExplorer (check running processes at VT)
- SigCheck (scan folders at VT & check signature)

Okay so I've run qihoo total security and decided that it is a keeper! It is extremely light after a while. I have turned off bit defender engine for realtime for the sake of ram. This reduced the ram usage from 150mb to 20mb. Now relying mainly on Avira engine and qihoos engines. However, on demand scanning will include bitdefender. I persoanlly don't feel any slow down, and it's two engine powerhouse makes this a very good software to keep.

Between those choices I'd personally have to go with #4.
An Anti-Executable + Sandboxie + an ad blocker is a good way to go IMO.

I have been using the #1 combo for quite a while. It has served me well with absolutely no issues at all. Once ERP is properly trained, its very quiet and hassle free, coupled with HMPA (soon to be version 3), provides a very strong, light and secure setup. Especially with the native chrome sandbox, you cant go wrong.

 

i am using n°4 and it is perfect ( system responsiveness-wise)

 

@TyRidian I would go with number 4 setup. IMO it covers most security areas with no overlap.
