I spoke too soon, I didn't have the box for beta updates checked, so I checked it, updated again and... now everytime I update the box comes up wanting me to reboot again, its this version of the beta that is wonky on my computer.

I confirm, exactly the same problem (reboot again etc...)
I'm waiting on the next release.

EAM asked for a reboot after updating to 3861. On restarting, Win 7 rebooted to a black screen with a mouse pointer - nothing else. Turned off and rebooted twice more before PC booted normally.
    Everything seems fine now!

Updated to 9.0.0.3861. EAM is no more recognized by the windows security center.
    Everything else is ok.

We are already looking into what it causing the irritating update behavior as well as the WSC issues. Neither of them should have an impact on the actual functionality of the software. I can see however why they can be annoying so as a temporary workaround you can fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling EAM/EIS using the newest setup linked in the first post.

No more problem of rebooting at every update, all stable, only, allways the WSC problem, not so important.
    To help :
    win 32 32 bits - UnHackme - Sticky password - Winpatrol - PopPeeper - ATI Radeon 5500 series...

    Hello,
First of all, I apologize for my language. For a long time I have not had practice in writing.
But let's get straight to the point.

I'm testing out Emsisoft Internet Security since last 3 days. I'm using the newest version 9.0.0.3861. The GUI is very clearly structured and organized.
During my tests and normal usage of the computer I've noticed two kinds of behavior which are confusing for me:

    1. I'd like to control the outgoing connections of all my aplications, regardless of whether they are "trustworthy" or not. So
I changed options in "Advanced Firewall Settings" In "Firewall" section as follows:
    Incoming connection: Ask
    Outgoing connection: Ask

    EIS SCREEN4.jpg

This caused that each running application, which wants to establish an outgoing or incoming connection, even if there are rule created

    EIS SCREEN3.jpg

    Is this normal behaviour?

    2. Main window shows via overview that some malware objects are detected so far. If I click to the "Logs" there aren't any files in logs. What is meaning of the "Logs" in main windows?

    EIS SCREEN1.jpg

    EIS SCREEN2.jpg

    3. Unfortunetly, today EIS blocked my internet and network connection. I was trying to disable and eneble all components, but program freezed. The only way to restore internet was a reinstallation of EIS.

At the end I've got a small suggestions:

    - that would be great if there rules in the "Aplication Rules" were extanded. In this moment "All allowed" and "Custom rules" is not enough. I propose add especially "All blocked" rule.

    EIS SCREEN5.jpg

    - the usage of computer resources at this moment is quite high: aprox. 250 MB (average) and 300 MB (peak) at the normal usage of my computer. The time of procesor usage is around the 12 min after 6 hours of work (without scanning, only internet browsing).

9.0.0.3861 seems to be running smooth here no problems so far.

EDIT: I have been having freezes in MS Office Home & Business 2013. When I click on to open a link in E-mail Office freezes. When I reinstalled EAM 8.1.0.40 links in E-mails work fine.

EDIT: May be due to another beta not EAM, as I had some problems still. Removed other beta program.

under Overview-logs I have 4 Malware Objects detected so far but when I click on it it takes me to surf protection log and I can't anything that stands out...I do get a pop-up message that stated I have a few window files infected..system 32\taskeng.exe and I should contact support...Running Malwarebyts premium and Hitman pro and those two find nothing....Not sure if I'm infected or not...running Vista 32 bit...

So far, so good. Not one issue so far and I'm running it on two desktops and a laptop. I like how I had to set up a custom rule for qbittorrent. No other AV/Antimalware/Firewall ever even noticed or balked the first time qbit was fired up. EIS9 saw a potential backdoor/spyware behavioral problem. Love it.

I'm sold so far. Sign me up. EIS9 is probably only going to get better.

Glad you like it and the reason EIS made you do a custom rule for qbittorrent is because the program is UNKNOWN not TRUSTED by default.

The same is happening on my system. I've got a WIN7 64 bit

P.S. Once again, the "a2service.exe" stopped responding and cut me off
from web. Restart of the system didn't help.

We just released a new beta build today. Version number is 9.0.0.3885 for both Emsisoft Anti-Malware as well as Emsisoft Internet Security. If you have beta updates enabled under "Settings"/"Updates" the new version will be installed automatically.

Changes in 9.0.0.3885 compared to the previous version:
    • Dozens of GUI fixes: positions, fonts, colors, high-res support, etc.
    • Fixed behavior blocker logic issues.
    • Fixed system freeze on large amounts of parallel DNS queries.
    • Fixed issues with file modification alerts for own binaries.
    • Fixed repeated download of specific firewall components.
    • Fixed firewall boot sequence and guard shutdown logic.
    • Added saving of window state on program close.
    • Optimized firewall logic.
    • Re-enabled and improved multi language support of installer.
    • Fixed firewall uninstall bug.
    • Stability improvements.

Not normal, but I can't reproduce it either. Any chance you can send me your *.ini files so I can take a look at the exact rules you have set up?

The logs tile just brings you to the logs menu. There is no way to get you to the malware entries directly though as the number displayed on the tile is actually the sum of various different modules that all have separate log areas. Combining the logs into one large log would ultimately make the entire screen very messy.

We fixed one issue that could cause this problem in the new build we released today. I would appreciate it if you could give it a try.

We will consider it. Usually people create rules via the alert window which does allow for creation of block rules. However, a shortcut to override the rules may come in handy.

Internet browsing involves quite a bit of scanning actually. Essentially every single file put into your browser's cache will be scanned and each website consists of dozens if not hundreds of those files. You can greatly reduce the impact by either telling EAM/EIS not to scan files when they are written to your disk but only if they are about to be executed.

You will most likely find the log entries responsible for the counter in the File Guard or Scan section of the Logs menu.

    Sure, no problem.

There would be great if that problem were fixed. I've already updated the EIS to the newest beta version and running some crash test :). I'll give You a feedback.

Noted. I've changes that option and I'm testing it at this moment.

I just updated to EIS beta 3885. Everything seems to be fine except Windows Action Center now doesn't recognize that I have an AV or firewall. It wants me to find an AV and turn on Windows firewall. Everything else seems to be fine so far.

v9.0.0.3885 is running without problems on my 7 x64 machine.

So the way to have EAM not scan the files that are being written to cache when browsing is to set 'Scan level' to 'Fast - Scan programs when they are started' under 'Activate File Guard'? Am I right in thinking that this is probably a safe setting to make in EAM if Sandboxie is deleting all files anyway when closing the browser?

    Update ended: 20/05/2014 13:20:51
    Time elapsed: 0:00:14

    Update successful

    Detailed Information:

    fwndis64.sys (19294 bytes) - updated

Edit: 5 update/reboots for this file so far!
