It is more of a GUI limitation at the moment. Technically the new firewall core can handle IGMP (and a lot more protocols for that matter) just fine, but the GUI doesn't offer any control for it and currently does fall back to allow it in case of IGMP to not break some streaming setups. There are a ton of protocols out there. Some are less obscure than others. So adding everything to the GUI will result in excessive complexity. We are currently debating about adding a single option to drop all packets that aren't supported by the GUI, but haven't made a decision yet.

EAM doesn't access system restore at all. So it would be very surprising if EAM was actually the cause. Did you happen to run any system cleaners before? Most of them delete all snapshots except the most recent one. This does include the Windows disk clean up tool as well if I remember correctly.

I would appreciate it if you would stop posting private information. It is against the rules that you agreed to when joining the Tester team in our forums and I am quite sure the Wilders team doesn't particularly appreciate it either. Needless to say that the situation you created is the perfect example of why those rules exist. You missed a crucial part of the announcement and proclaimed a new public release although there is none. So please stop it.

    Thanks.

The new build isn't out yet. We will most likely publish it tomorrow.

Fabian, will you post release notes here at Wilders for each new beta build or is that for official Emsisoft beta testers only (meaning you only post them at Emsisoft beta forum)?

    Regards,
    Gabe

I'm probably in the minority. I like the old GUI better.
Sorry Fabian. But I will continue to use EAM. Been using EAM for over 2 years.

Is there any way of (re)enabling the beta trial license? I installed the beta and it says my trial has expired so won't enable any of the real-time features. I assume this is because it is picking up that I trialled an earlier release version last year. As I read posts earlier in this thread the trial license should be self-renewing during the beta phase. Thanks

Is it my VM or do you guys also notice slow down in on-demand cleaning?
I have a folder with cca. 1600 malware samples.
Scanning is as fast as in v8, but when it comes to cleaning (delete or quarantine), it takes forever to clean all detected files.
Right now it is still deleting for more than 30 minutes and progress bar is at 50%.

The trial licenses are only reset for version 9. Trials are also bound to Windows licenses. May I ask what type of Windows license you are using? I know there are some circumstances where the same license is shared between many systems (VLK for example), but those are not commonly used outside of corporate environments. In any case, if you let me know which product you want to trial, I can send you a 30 day license via PM.

It is better to just use the command line scanner if you plan to scan bulk sample sets at the moment. The list showing the results at the end of the scan has a few performance issues at the moment. We are aware of them, but since large amounts of different malware infections are rare on most systems, it isn't high up on the list of things we want to fix right now.

Thanks, I am using W8.1 pro and the license has only ever been used on 1 PC. I seem to remember testing out a V8 license some time ago which V9 install must be complaining about. I'd like to try the V9 anti-malware product please.

Updated to 9.0.0.3861. and then EIS ask me to reboot 2 times.
The product is no more recognized by the windows security center ... I just disable it fot the moment.
All seems to work normaly, but the firewall ask me to update the rules for A2...

    French Win 7 32 bits.
    Best regards

Installed EIS 9 beta on two of my machines yesterday evening, a laptop and a desktop both quad cores running Win 7 64-bit. Both installations went flawlessly. On my desktop, during installation, EIS detected several traces with smart scan (no risk, apparently) that had previously gone undetected by MBAM and others. it promptly quarantined them after prompting.

I really like this so far. It seems extremely light and my PCs seem to run quicker and smoother. My desktop used to have an occasional stutter at the most inopportune times. That's now gone, which tells me it may have been caused by the previous AV. At any rate, the layout is very nice, it's very intuitive, and everything is easy to find. While the firewall has limited use while I'm home behind my router and in my network, it should prove more than useful when I'm out and about in publc networks and hotspots.

Very impressive work. I like this a lot so far.

Action center is throwing up messages that I have no virus protection or firewall after updating to new version of beta. Tried rebooting and turning protection on/off a couple times, nothing has worked.

i just got home and checked the action center on my installations. Everything is okay. Mine was a fresh install, though. It appears the update must have borked something for you.

Another issue, whenever I click to update a box pops up saying I have to reboot computer, never did that before either. I'm going to reinstall and see what happens.

Re-install seems to have fixed both issues.
