I tried rebooting !!!!!! When I do the same two boxes become unticked. I can not update. I did not install any programs. All I did was leave for the day to take a 4th generation picture of my great gran daughter. When I came back home It was disabled. No one else used this computer while gone. House was empty and locked.

The USB key that contains my LIC has been misplaced and so I would rather not have to reinstall. Something messed with the program while I was away.

Talking about opinions on MBAM v2 and the in-house ads, here's Mike's review (based on MBAM 2.0.1):

    http://www.softwarecrew.com/2014/05/review-malwarebytes-anti-malware-premium-2/

And, I quote, "We’re not sure why the main dashboard had an advert or “Malwarebytes Secure Backup”, either. That’s fine in the free version, but pay for the Premium build and we’d expect the ads to disappear."

They have already toned down the UI color notifications in response to user feedback, but don't you see that there's no way the UI is going to please everyone? I remember reading posts before MBAM v2 was created where people said they felt the UI in v1.X was too old fashioned. One good thing about the v2 UI is it gives more obvious feedback about the state of the program and the system.

Half the world thinks 1.75 looked too old but it was simple, half the world thinks 2.0 looks great. I'm personally losing my mind :).

That being said, we did some things very wrong, i.e. not letting you get rid of the marketing and information modules, big glitches with some of the UI, and so on. We're working on it. 2.0.2 will be released ~May 12th and will fix 30 bugs with scanning, rootkits, logging, and much more. Honestly, that was way more important for us than hiding the marketing module. But that's coming!

What about an option to hide all warnings that real time protection is turned OFF in the paid Pro version?

Can you do something to differentiate between ip blocks popups and malware popups or other notifications?
I would like to hide the popup notifications related with the IP Blocks.

Why is the self-protection module disable by default?

I was running 2.0 on 5 machines. On one of the machines the scheduler would only work intermittently. I reverted to 1.75 for now on said machine. Hopefully this gets fixed soon?

I manually updated on top of 2.0.2.1009, without turning off Self Protection (SP), and a clean install was not necessary for me. A system restart was however mandatory.

After the restart, my first non-defragmented HDD Hyper Scan, with all options off, took 2:24 - a Threat scan, with everything checked, took 8:42. Yes - these times are relative but impressive and should still be representative.

How do the scan times with this latest beta compare to the previous version you were using? Roughly how much faster do you feel they are?

My experience of MBAM 2.0.1.1004 premium is that it is a very buggy program for instance , my boot time increased over 30sec and the scheduling update checks does not work at all for me and scheduling of scans , only sometimes . I could go on and on since there still are a lot but those are the 2 most important problems at least for me and regarding the boot problem i am surprised that not more people complains over it , is it really only me ?

    Hello Victek:

    2.0.2.1009 Hyper Scan: 10:31 & Threat Scan: 13:19

However, the Hyper Scan had been with everything checked on.

    HTH :)

    Hello pb1:

Everything is so relative and each system is different. I do know that several dozen things have been changed or fixed (since build 1004) that I would do a mbam-clean uninstall & install 2.0.2.1010 and if you see any non-cosmetic show stoppers, please consider letting the build 1010 remain and open your own topic at: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help.

Expert staffer assistance is available about 16+ hours per day.

    Hello Baedric:

On that particular system, please consider doing a mbam-clean uninstall and install 2.0.2.1010. If the trouble remains, please stay with build 1010 and open your own topic at Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help.

    Thank you. :)

    On top of this

Could you add an option for the av engine to work only on access and not in every case (when a file is modified)

I did a clean install of the latest beta and the scheduler seems to be working properly thus far. The scan time seems to be much improved also.
