Well that sucks considering I'm from the UK and buy GDATA from the USA website, due to the fact that from there 2-year/5user licenses go for about £70 in UK money, where the same deal from the UK website runs me about £180.

At the online shop for G Data USA, I see that the products are still offered for many countries, among which Great Britain. So that's very good, and quite different to the online shops for the G Data sites for other countries like Germany, The Netherlands, France and United Kingdom.
Let's hope the online shop for G Data USA will keep offering the products for many countries, among which Great Britain, as it does to date.

Guys, just download a trial version of gdata 2015 and use your username/password bought from wherever to use it, what difference does it make if its not available for download in your region ?

    Thanks, you're right, of course.
A new customer who wants the new G Data 2015 but cannot buy that in his or her own region yet, can buy the old G Data 2014 including the G Data licence, wherever, and then download the new G Data 2015 installation file from wherever the new G Data 2015 installation file is offered, through the UpgradeCenter, or get the trial version, which is the same installer, if I'm not mistaken. The only thing one needs is a valid G Data licence.

    Yes, it still has.
As I said last Friday, April 18, I hope G Data will offer a new build, soon, including the fix for the keylogger protection, to prevent that too many users will be confronted with issues related to G Data 2015 keylogger protection.

I am not sure if you have noticed, but the "update program" button in G-DATA never seems to work for me when there are new builds, I have have to download them from the website, as the "update program" always says "up-to date"

    Hi Taliscicero,
In my experience, new builds will be available through the "Update software" function or will be offered automaticly, but only quite some time after the initial release of new builds. I presume this is G Data policy. I guess this may be to spread the load to the servers, and to broaden the time interval in which users are confronted with new build and its potential new issues, to lower the load for G Data customer support. Or perhaps there may be other reasons. Anyhow, as I said, new builds will be available through the "Update software" function or will be offered automaticly, but only quite some time after the initial release of new builds.

Anyone know if there is an approximate date or any news on when the "3" patch will be updated and combined into a new installer?

Last Thursday, I asked G Data support again.
I was told that fix #3 will be part of the next update, provided the fix does not appear to cause any other problems, but that there was no release date planned, yet.
I was invited to implement that fix #3, as G Data would like the feedback about it.
I said that I understood, but that I would rather wait for the update/ the new build.
Anyway, when G Data is sufficiently sure the fix does not cause any other problems, there will be an update (which may also improve some other items). How long this will take is hard to say and mostly depending on the feedback G Data receives regarding the fix, so I was told.

Does anyone know how their licensing works. Do older version licenses work in the new version? Also, is there any discount upon renewal?
    Thanks

Yes. As long as your G Data license is still valid, it works for the new version.

Yes. For instance, if I would buy G Data IS for 1 computer for 12 months, I would pay €39.95. Upon renewal (from a still valid licence) I paid €30.00 (last February).

Good Morning! I contacted G-Data roughly 3mths ago to ask if a discount could be offered for my expiring license. Their response was... Thank you for contacting the G Data help desk. Unfortunately we do not have authority to negotiate prices for our products. I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for using G Data. Now in all fairness, I really didn't contact anybody from Sales...at a head office level...that might be able to provide me with a suitable offer...to renew. Point being, surf the net for third party authorized G-Data vendors resellers...who usually provide the consumer with more competitive pricing. Also I find G-Data's regular pricing to be very reasonable...as compared to the larger well known market competitors. After all G-Data is a small provider as opposed to it's larger German and European and N.American competitors. And with fluctuating currencies throughout the world...it's up to you the consumer to provide yourself with the so called best deal possible...and to check here at Wilders regarding Updates and Pricing offered. Sincerely...Securon

Securon's reply made me aware of the fact that I hadn't asked rollers if he/she has a licence that automaticly ends at the end of the licence period, or a 'subscription' licence that is automaticly renewed at the end of the licence period as the user pays the subscription bill for the new period.
I myself have such a 'subscription' licence, which is renewed with the discount that I mentioned, not €39.95 per 12 months but €30.00. I think this 'discount' only applies to renewal of a 'subscription' licence, and not if you have a licence that automaticly ends at the end of the licence period.

Good Morning! Good point Stupendous Man...G-Data internationally offers various licensing contracts...to renewing consumers. Point being like all offers check out the small print in the Eula's...I know most of us check accept and go on our merry ways...when conducting a purchase. But as a consumer if your not comfortable with Terms and Conditions...don't be shy or hesitant in contacting G-Data's Sales Office and talk with someone who hopefully can provide you the customer with Clarity in regards to your prospective purchase of their product. After all it's a Business transaction...Beware of Terms and Conditions! And if your not completely sold on the Product perhaps being unfamiliar with it's use and effectiveness...take advantage of G-Data's 30 Day Product Trial Period...before making a final purchase. Sincerely...Securon

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have no licence at the moment, am going to install the trial version to give a spin, and if I like it to buy a licence.

Will do. I had one glitch but support were very quick on putting that right. It was the banking software rapport that was causing the issue with Chrome browser. It doesn't play well with the banking protection. As soon as rapport was removed its all running great.

Good Afternoon! Rollers? If you purchased G-Data Internet Security...it has it's own Banking Protection...in Bank Guard. I also had Rapport a while back but didn't need it because most major security apps...Suites have a Banking Protection Component. Sincerely...Securon

How is this new version? Light? I'm tempted to try it.

Yes, on my machine it is as light as anything else I have tried and works nicely in the background.

I used antivirussales.com and picked up their special offer for half price. You can use paypal to pay too.
