Can someone list those AVS or IS or firewalls that work good without compatibility and issues on windows 8.1 with the latest update 1?

I just tried online armor and it is incompatible. During its initial install it give host finding error and then internet error and killed my browsing and internet.

Emsisoft antinalware pro installed with all shield OFF and it would not allow me to turn them on.

So these 2 have compatibility issues. Are there any other AVs or security softwares that work well and issue free? Those that you know works well.

Windows (8.1) defender + UAC + Smartscreen + Windows Firewall ; in fact the built-in features if det properly is enough for daily normal usage

Forticlient and nod32 work fine for me in windows 8.1.1 pro 64bit. But nod 32 is not showing alerts for threats blocked in IE 11 in notifications. IE just says the page cannot be displayed. Also nod 32 shows wrong windows build number in its about tab. It shows windows build as 6.2.9200 whereas it should be 6.3.9600

I have tested KIS, NIS, and ESS to all work without issue. I would think most vendors would work at this point or have a fix coming. If not I would be complaining to their customer support.
