Image for Linux - restore NTFS permissions on backup files?

I figure somebody out there has done this...

After I do a backup of my Windows 7 boxes with Image for Linux, the NTFS permissions on the backup file are a little screwy. I have to manually go in there and add some basic permissions back so I can open the file, mount it, move it, etc. This is because the file is created outside of Windows within Linux.

I'm a scripting n00b. Does anyone have a post-backup script they use to restore these permissions? I assume a command prompt or Powershell? I'm sure I can edit it to suit my needs, but I don't know where to start.

 

I've seen some destinations be more problematic that others. Some seem to better allow permissions to be retained. You could try a different path or making sure the path being used has the desired permissions set (they might already be correct, but worth checking).
