Sorry Erik, that one was really OUT and the other 2 were ON.
I do not know, how this happened, but everything in my Vista is OK now.
Later on, I will look in my Windows 8.1 test system, maybe same problem.
    Thanks.
By the way, have you seen my remarks in #1441 about the Dutch text and the black SMB tile color on a black background
    Dik

We found a issue with Logoff on computers running Windows Vista. Computers running XP, Windows 7 or Windows 8 are not affected.

Thanks for confirming that issue, Erik.
I hope the SurfRight team can trace the cause of the issue and find a way to fix it.

That easily happens, by accident, when You have windows set to open folders on single click.
If You double click on browser, in HMPA settings, You deactivate flyout.

    Here we go again....

Setup an older Sony VAIO Laptop with WIN7-pro-64, Bitdefender-free Antivirus and Malwarebytes-pro 2.0.00.1000 and HMPA 2.6.4.75.

    Result: False positive "Intruder-Alert"

BTW: German translation is not correct.
"Kritische Browserfunktionen wurden von einer vermutlich "schadhaften" Software..."

    You certainly mean : "schädlichen"

Thanks for your very fast answer Stupendous Man. Obviously I had only scanned this thread and not read it, otherwise I would have referred to your post.

No, the reason is that I have already tried to upgrade twice, once last year to version 2013, but I then encountered some strange issues, which I did not have the time for to sort out. Recently I tried to upgrade to version 2014, but noticed that not all of my settings were imported, so I need to do check which settings I have and then compare which have been imported and which not. Considering these two issues I am waiting until my desktop is fixed, so I can test how well the upgrade goes on one computer, while keeping the other computer on version 2012 until I have confirmed that the upgrade went well.

Thanks for the confirmation. I hope you will release a fix soon (and not roll out any automatic update before that moment).

First of all, this thread is not about HitmanPro, it's about HitmanPro.Alert.
Secondly, if you would be referring to HitmanPro.Alert Support, please elaborate, tell us what you're talking about. Or should we just guess?

    Hello cloudstr:

All your other posts are so much more constructive compared to this one.

Reporting to Eric/Mark exactly what you see (and in the correct sub-forum) serves us all much better. Eric/Mark are giving us their best.

I hope all of us can continue to put kindness and thought into our posts.

Please elaborate. Without details I cannot fix what is wrong.

    @ cloudstr,

    So you edited your post.
Where you first said "Why HitmanPro sucks so much?"
now you say you are trolling.

That's strange, why would you be trolling?
As 1PW said, all your other posts are so much more constructive compared to this one. You didn't seem like the person to be trolling.
And as said, please elaborate, without details we don't know what you're talking about, and Erik/ SurfRight cannot fix what is wrong.

I can confirm this report. It is caused by WSA. I will see if we can work around it in next build.

Yes, thanks. I just noticed myself as I was turning web protection (in WSA) off to see if it would work and it does.

    Thanks!

I tried to uninstall HitmanPro.Alert from a W732 machine. It no longer shows up in the C:\Program Files directory or the Programs and Features panel; yet it's still running when I open any browser. I've rebooted and looked in task manager; and don't see it running. I tried to re-install it, but it fails to install with an error code of "0".

How can I remove it? It's build 2.7.4.75

search if hmpalert.dll is at System32 -folder, and delete it (hmpalert.dll).

If someone can tell me HOW this uninstall issue happens (how to reproduce) I will reward him with 10 HitmanPro licenses. I have no clue

Wow. it's got to be pretty bad if even the developer can't figure it out. What are the common denominator with the uninstall issue? I know that I had the same issue with a Win7 32 bit.

Have you tried uninstalling it while the browser is still running?

While uninstalling HMPA, switch off all the real-time protection from/in other security software
    - e.g., Program Guard in Online Armor, HIPS, protection in MBAM, antivirus, and so on.

After uninstall, find and remove the files HMPAlert.dll, HMPAlert.sys,
and all the program folders in Program Files as well as Documents and Settings directories
(Application Data, Local Settings\Application Data for All Users, current user, etc.)

Alert are 3 (or 4) files, depending on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows:

    1. Service/Uninstaller/GUI in C:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert\hmpalert.exe
    2. Driver in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\hmpalert.sys
    3. Library in C:\Windows\System32\hmpalert.dll
    3b. Library_x64 in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\hmpalert.dll

When uninstall issue occurs only the hmpalert.exe is removed. The driver and the DLL remain and still produce flyouts. There will also be slowdown in application starting because service is gone.

I have no clue when the uninstall is not working. Maybe there is a tool that clears the PendingRenameFileOperations registry key because most of the uninstall is handled by that key.

I think that HMPA is a quite aggressive software (that's good),
and it may interact with other security programs in an unpredictable way,
    depending on the particular software and OS environment;
for example, I had a problem with HMPA working together with Online Armor (WinXP).

So, I would try to turn off all the real-time/proactive/etc. protection
in other security programs during HMPA uninstall; it's not an ideal solution, but it may work.

Maybe they are running CCleaner before the reboot?
    CCleaner registry clean?
