No it's not, lolz. Download whatever you want, whether it's CD, or DVD and MD5 check signature(s) and hash-check; don't just smoke it. ;-p ;-d

    P.S.
*Sometimes* this may actually be true.. && so, btw., on some systems, installing from a CD will work when installing from a DVD won't and vice-versa (bootloader, or other issues; don't rly matter :))

    Edit:
Not that it applies, but for nVidia on Linux, there's: nvidia-settings

&& in this case, dropping the Ubuntu-derivative Mint (if / since it's making problems :)) and going back to the source: Ubuntu and/or Xubuntu (w/o the terror, "Unity")

Linux Mint 17 on Netbook. I cleaned it up and I have now just what I wanted : a relatively secure Netbook with the needed Net surfing stuff, LibreOffice, Gimp and VLC. That's all ! And most of it is apparmor'ed !

    tried in order :

    Mint 17 > Ubuntu > Kubuntu > mint 17 (current)

mint 17 resources usage is better than Ubuntu

i gave up on Windows, too many hassle-useless tasks to do ; not saying resources usage too high for what it does.

Totally agree on the Windows comments... Using Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon here... Couldn't be happier....
