Whoops, haven't revisited this thread in a while... Not my first Lumia, probably not my last. This was an upgrade from a 920, which was an incredible phone. The 1520 is huge. Still it fits in my pocket just fine and is easy to read. The battery lasts for 2 days. I find it to be an incredible device with my only complaint being that they need to work on the screen sensitivity. I put a 64 GB Micro SD in it. This allows for my entire music collection with room leftover. This thing is really very close to being capable of replacing a laptop. Windows Phone 8.1 should bring it most of the rest of the way there.
Yeah I thought you had forgotten. Ah I see. You could try putting it on high sensitivity. Settings > System > Display+Touch > Touch. Expandable memory slot made it very convenient to be entertained on the go. I use a 32GB Micro SD in my L520. I'm not a heavy user. The battery lasts for around 3 days maximum. I keep it on airplane mode in night. Yours has larger screen so 2 days is good. Are you a heavy user that is to say use all the time? Win 8.1 will make it sweet. Even my experience will be enhanced with L520 not getting some of the important upgrades. All in all I love my Lumia Windows Phone. Great to hear you like it too. Nokia has introduced its Android series of phones and includes a phablet. What do you think of it?
Actually they released a firmware update for it today. Fixed all of my complaints. No more touch issues. At all. Android? Not sure how interested I would be. They look like nice devices but I find it less stable than Windows Phone. I have never had this phone lock up or spontaneously reboot. I think the 920 locked up once in 16 months. My Droid rebooted at least twice a day and would sometimes freeze in the middle of a call. People complain about a lack of apps for Windows Phone, but they have everything I want so I'll be sticking with it for the foreseeable future.
I've got a $100 Android phone, and it has never locked up or rebooted. I had reboot issues with my Motorola, but I've had issues with every Motorola phone I've owned. But these days I only use cheap Chinese Android phones, which are much more reliable. What model of Android phone did you have? The problems you were having are device specific problems. It is not normal behaviour for Android phones to reboot.
It was a Motorola but it looks like they are about to become a Chinese brand so who knows if that will help?
I don't think that will change anything, but I can only hope that the quality of the Motorola's phones and increased after being taken over by Google.
Hahahaha yeah but they kept the quality as good as it was if not better as in the past so i guess theres a chance they can do good things with Motorola.
I have an Android tablet and phone (HTC One that I like) . Can't imagine making a phone call on anything bigger than that though so phablet not on my shopping list. Cheers
^ That's exactly the problem.. There's, like, a million models; but, each one is lacking one-or-the-other feature. Always something seems to be missing, in order to have all of the features that I would be needing - somehow. xD Seems to me, like a waste of money; anyway. Edit: I mean, waste of money, in terms of: there's, either, a proprietary software issue (or lack and/or price of software, things not supported on platform / processor), or some compatibility / memory issue, or something else - always *something*
Not unless there is a Google Nexus Phablet. I have a Nexus 4 phone now, a Nexus 7 tablet; in about a year I'll buy a Nexus 5, never buy when first appears. I wait until the defects discovered and fixed, then buy. Perhaps some months before a year. The Nexus 7 I like instead of the larger tablets, I can hold it in one hand. Nexus 4 has 4.7 inch screen, and I'm not annoyed to watch a movie on it. 5 to 5.2 inches my max for phone screen. My phone I want smaller than tablet size. The Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 good combo, both have the Google apps in common but have different elective apps. Apps that are really for large screen on tablet. I have a lot of space on the phone and tablet, a terabyte.
