3 top-notch engines are enough. They can invest the rest of their resources to improving other features. It could have something to do with their relative lack of popularity/weaker cloud function, so only proven great engines also popular enough to be able to consult another huge cloud network when they don't find anything themselves are left now. That begs the question why Panda isn't included, but then again, it only began to do well in tests half a year ago.
The reason they dropped Emsisoft is because the contract agreement ended and they didn't see the need to renew it. I guess that applies to all other vendors too.
Pretty much. But this made me think that HMP's detection rate changes dynamically, though I am not sure of how good their in-house behavioral analysis before HMP uploads the file to the cloud for further checking.
Yeah, didn't even know WTH you guys were talking about, "Hitman Pro"; but, from that link eye can see it's @ Code: http://www.surfright.nl/en && btw., you say that support is removed from it, but: Code: http://malwaretips.com/threads/emsisoft-anti-malware-free-hitman-pro-on-3-pcs.15570/ .. Have to check it out, seems like it could be some cool software, tnx!
I went with 8 simply because it was the most I could pick. I want it to be as comprehensive as possible as it's one of only two on demand scanners I have that give full scans. The other is MBAM. So ideally 8, with none of them being MBAM.
