no, on low security sites I use a low security password ... difficult to break but not necessarily different from the others (some sites I might visit a few times to get some info I need but then I might not return but save it in case I do)

 

Nothing much changed (see sig) and no infections so far (knock on woods)

I've recently tried a myriad of setups; Avast, Avira, MBAE, Hitman Pro Alert, Panda, all with or without Sandboxie. On my Laptop (4 mg ram, 2.2 dual core, windows 7 home premium), the best setup I've found is Sandboxie with Panda cloud with no toolbar/url filter. It's not needed with Sandboxie. Any other combo gives slightly stuttery streaming video which I think is attributable to any kind of url filtering/scanning.

I've always loved Sandboxie because I can go to the darkest locations of the interwebs and never have to worry. it's the best solution for computer defense IMO. There really is no need to even have Panda running, but with the URL filter uninstalled, it's so light, I'm gonna keep it just as a backup. All questionable downloads get scanned in the sandbox via virus total, including all email attachments I need.

I use Firefox with adblock + and DNTM for privacy concerns, and that is it. Also weekly windows 7 images.

 

Yes, Sandboxie can make all other security software almost unnecessary.

@Update:

 

WebrootSA and Sandboxie along with scheduled scans by MBAM and HMP.

 

I wouldn´t go that far, I still need my behavior blocker and firewall.

But from a technical point of view, Sandboxie is one of the best security tools ever.

Thanks, light is right, I hardly know they are there. WSA is for if something gets by Sandboxie, but nothing ever does.

 

Ditched Avast for EAM, a nice simple antivirus that is easy to use without all the crap( Grimefighter, SafePrice, Browser Cleanup,Sofware Updater), you know what I'm talking about!

Runs heavier than Avast but thats what ram is for.

Plus I like supporting the little guys who provide excellent service like MBAM and Emsisoft.

I run EAM with the RAM "saver" option disabled. I mean during normal use W8 barely uses over 1.4GB (Even less most of the times) so i have to put my RAM to good use. Less disk I/O means faster response.
On a side note, i still install Avast! on my friends PC's when they bring them for a quick fix.

Good Morning! Excellent App change Digmor! I just re-installed Eset S.S.7...due to the fact it has an excellent unobtrusive firewall...and features zero bloat. As far as detection is concerned EAM...is superb...it's Apples and Apples with Eset and has improved greatly in reducing bloat. Also as you mentioned their Support is next to none...point being you can feel completely secure with either EAM or Eset. And of course WSA Security Plus and AppGuard complement either EAM or Eset. Sandboxie, MBAM pro 1.75, Palemoon browser with NoScript and am trying out Ghostery along with it. Uninstalled adblock edge and have found that the memory in Palemoon has gone down considerably with just Ghostery and NoScript addons. If I need an adblocker I will activate Adfender which I find I have to rarely use with Ghostery and NoScript. Periodic backups with Macrium Reflect. Also use windows firewall in Windows 7 64bit and have UAC set to the max.

 

I removed MBAM and Ghostery. So my real-time security now consists of UAC on max, ESET Nod32 AV, OpenDNS and Adblock Plus for Chrome. It's light, simple and set-and-forget setup.
