    Dont you use DRWEB SergM?

The english part of the forum doesnt have the answer that i can find and the technical support link doesnt work as it wont let me choose the product that i have a query about.

I choose... I DO NOT HAVE COMMERCIAL LICENSE (im trialing it) > TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH DR WEB > HOME PC/LAPTOP > WINDOWS > SELECT THE PRODUCT...EITHER DR WEB CUREIT OR DR WEB LIVE CD.
Its neither drweb cureit or livecd.
EDIT.....i SENT EMAIL TO TECH SUPPORT USING THE SECOND CHOICE" I am a subscriber of the "Dr.Web antivirus" service"

I am willing to provide a 1 PC 4-year license of Dr.Web to an interested user as I have one unused with me. The deal is, I still do not know if this retail box has a region-specific key or not. Would appreciate if someone tried it (the box does NOT say that the key can be activated in specific regions only).

Anyone interested should send me a PM.

Presumably you have given a the product a test run. What are your impressions if any.

My impressions: slightly heavy (Security Space Pro), decent firewall, Antivirus works well for what it is (detection rates in my own personal testing are average but not bad). I don't have much more to say than that.

Other users here, who got the licenses I was giving away should be able to tell you more than I can, because I didn't use it for very long.

For what it's worth, I installed ten days ago SecuritySpace 9.0 on a virgin Windows 8.1 Pro for the first time.

Did a custom install, drop the firewall, spider mail + antispam and the parental control. Cloud service active.

I find it a bit more heavy than the default WindowsDefender for general tasks but nothing close to annoying. I like it overall, the updater checks for new files every 30 min by default.

Can't say about protection it provides yet but I certainly feel a bit more confident with the Doctor than with WindowsDefender... for now.

stops working for no reason but after a restart it comes back again. There should e something in my computer that does not go along well. I do not have any other security tools for the moment . But this first experience after a long time off is not so good. Still a nit heavy and the thing i hate the most is the GUI. it sucks a big time . Come on Doctores cant you just find someone that does plastic surgery to get your face fixed ? Keep the green though:D :D

Hard to evaluate your experience as you've dropped to many components.

I have always liked the Web, but the reality is, there is just as good protection for a lot less money. The new Kaspersky is proof. Nothing beats it in test and the once heavy lag is gone. But Web will always have their followers and that is a good thing.

Hammer, I very much doubt that system's lag or general performance would change much compared with having all of the suite's components enabled, my goal was to make it as close as possible as a standalone antivirus. Although granted that my quick general impression of the product might not be of much use for others, that's why I said 'fwiw'...

Otherwise, I agree entirely with what Trjam said. Kaspersky is the 'king' for some time now ;)

I would respectfully disagree. As an example I recently read a review of Bullguard that stated the antispam module significantly slowed the downloading of email.

I'm talking specifically about the overall system overhead resulting from running Dr.Web antimalware engine alone (spiderguard + spidergate + cloud service, to be more precise).

I did not take into account the individual suite components because, as I said before, I like security apps to run at minimum of the required modules to operate, and my previous experience with other antiviruses (being Avira and G Data suites perfectly customizable while F-Secure is not, you have to try AV and IS separately) shown from none to negligible system lag when comparing individual components from full installations.

The case you mention, Bullguard, reminds me of the old versions of G Data's email scan plugin which brought many headaches to its users.

A few years ago Dr. Web did a great job of exterminating some hard to find malware using their cure-it scanner.. :D

Dr.Web has launched a new promotion for its home products that offers a whopping 50% discount over a regular license. Meet the "Dr.Web Security Space without technical support".

In US$ - the price for a 1 year protection for 1 PC is 19.55 USD

In Euro - the price for a 1 year protection for 1 PC is 28.21 EUR

The reason for a discount is simple: the license is being offered without a technical support.

Great pricing and smart move, considering the fact that international users rarely request a technical support..

The promotion doesn't have an expiry date at the moment.

You can get your copy of Dr.Web Security Space, here: http://estore.drweb.com/home/?lng=en

they have run 50% off a few times already. and lol to offer a discount to remove all tech support is ridiculous imo.

This time it is going to become a permanent type of license.

Anyway, it is a justified measure for those who certainly do not need any technical support. If there is an market for such a product, why not cater to them?

p.s. I believe intensive market research was conducted at Doctor Web towers before releasing that type of license..

i dropped them anyway once they decided they were going to tell me what they thing is pirated material. i do NOT use anything pirated but to me thats to invasive on my systems. if i wanted a nanny i would hire one. i loved dr web for the longest time but as long as they keep features like that one i will not look to them again. pressure or not from the russian govnt then only have it so the users in russia have to have that feature, anyway rant over. and i again disagree that users who buy dr web will not ever need tech support. imo bad decision. and for the average user who finds this "deal" on dr web and buys it maybe not knowing they get zero tech support then they end up needing it and there is none i think they will be pretty upset about that.

it should say this in big letters right on the page BEFORE even adding it to your cart. there is a check for the tech support underneath but if you miss that again you will be annoyed becaise you will pay the higher price unless you uncheck that. a bit sneaky imo

But if you were not of Russian origin you were already guaranteed no technical support!! :p

That statement is not exactly true now.
The company has boosted its number of English-speaking technical staff, so the current waiting time for a response is no more than 24 hour, while recommended response time set at 12 hour period for regular inquiries. The only other global AV vendor with similar response timing is Symantec.
As you can see, the company is improving its services and has been actively rectifying its past mistakes.

I used DRWEB for several years back in the early 2000's. I absoluetly loved it!!! The best version they ever made was Version 4.44. After that, they gradually changed for the worst. The new version is just too over the top. Damn I loved the old, simple GUI they used to have.

I have installed Dr.Web and it runs fine, I have allways liked this AV, the only problem I see is that it is expensive. I only have 30 days to taste it.

You can still purchase a version of Dr.Web Anti-virus without additional comprehensive components, plus if you purchase it without a technical support, it costs a lot cheaper too - only $18.02 per year!
