Does using the portable version result in the same error?

    Is your Windows XP up-to-date?

I have not been on in a long time and noticed that everyone here is keeping PrivaZer quite busy with excellent suggestions. I have a couple of questions of my own:
    1. Does PrivaZer now have a function and capability of Scramble file and folder properties?
    2. When will Enabling the wiping of shadow copies be implemented.

    Hello DATACHECK,

sorry for delay, working on v2.17

    1. we need to work on that and on alternate data streams (ADS). We will in next release (v2.18 or v2.19)
    2. we will add an option to delete shadow copies but users have to know that it will erase all restore points, so that the option will not be checked by default.

    @to all

    New PrivaZer v2.17 released :D

Hi done some testing with privaZer and found that even after running multiple scan and cleanups and reboots I was still able to find a ton of stuff using Autopsy 3.0.9 I highly recommend that you test it out as it is clearly missing a lot of files.

Is the remove Usb history feature working in PrivaZer as in Autospy 3.0.9 I could find prev usb flash sticks even though PrivaZer reported "no traces found " ?

    Hello,

    1. we will test that and will keep you informed. :thumb:
    2. The USB history removal is deactivated in PrivaZer because it should be reworked.

Can we remove the used wireless access points log from Windows?

I didn't know Windows kept a history of them until I've found them under the settings of scheduled tasks where you can choose a task to be run under a specific access point. Most of them (90%+) are old and already deleted from my "visible" wireless access point list.

I also have another question, Kernel-EventTracing (and I think Dhcp-Client too) event logs are the only "Administrative Events Log" type on my PC not yet deleted by PrivaZer and the oldest is almost 1 year old.

By the way, what's the priority for the feature of cleaning RecentFileCache.bcf file? I think it has crucial information people are not aware of.

There are also other crucial logs under "Application and Services Event Logs" I didn't have much time to look into it but the "Application-Experience" logs must definitely be cleaned.

    Edit:

    Some places:
    Microsoft-Windows-Application-Experience/Program-Compatibility-Assistant (old file history)

    Microsoft-Windows-Application-Experience/Program-Telemetry (old file history)

Microsoft-Windows-Bits-Client/Operational (some logs about application updates, windows update, etc., some file history)

    Microsoft-Windows-DateTimeControlPanel/Operational (system time change history)

Microsoft-Windows-Diagnosis-Scheduled/Operational (History of diagnosis, like the history of when problems were detected)

Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Networking/Operational (some history of browser paths and some urls, for example: "URL=http://************""; AppID="C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"; ")

Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance/Operational (history of shut downs, hibernations, etc.)

    Microsoft-Windows-International/Operational
    Microsoft-Windows-International-RegionalOptionsControlPanel/Operational
    Microsoft-Windows-LanguagePackSetup/Operational
(these contain system language changing history)

Microsoft-Windows-NlaSvc/Operational (history about some network gateway ips)

Microsoft-Windows-ReadyBoost/Operational (some performance logs and system start logs)

    Microsoft-Windows-Recovery/Operational (recovery logs)

Microsoft-Windows-RemoteAssistance/Operational (some Remote Assistance started/ended logs)

    Microsoft-Windows-Resource-Exhaustion-Detector/Operational
    Microsoft-Windows-Resource-Exhaustion-Resolver/Operational
(history of when virtual memory was low)

Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager/Operational (some logs about remote desktop, I'm not sure)

    Microsoft-Windows-User Profile Service/Operational (user log on/off history)

Microsoft-Windows-WER-Diagnostics/Operational (some logs about Error reporting?)

    Microsoft-Windows-WindowsBackup/ActionCenter (backup log)

    Microsoft-Windows-WindowsSystemAssessmentTool/Operational (Windows Experience Index history)

    Microsoft-Windows-WindowsUpdateClient/Operational (Windows Update Log)

Microsoft-Windows-WLAN-AutoConfig/Operational (Wireless connection logs, though not very old, oldest 2 weeks old, is it being cleaned?)
    Microsoft-Windows-Wired-AutoConfig/Operational

    Microsoft-Windows-WPD-MTPClassDriver/Operational (not sure)

    Re: Privazer

I read some good comments on another site, forgot which one, re Privazer, so decided to install it - I ran it and there's a whole lot of files deemed to be unnecessary - could some "experts" have a look at the results, attached, and comment please? -

quaytin, I doubt anyone would be able to tell you the answer without knowing exactly which files were removed. By the way, you have already removed the files. And Privazer is the safest product I have used (including ccleaner).

subhrobhandari, thanks for replying I was concerned that so many files were removed - compared to Ccleaner there was a helluva lot - your reply is reassuring though - the advice i got re Privazer never mentioned that, but looks like it's the real deal, thank you again, Quaytin

in reply to the previous post - guess my post was somewhat vague to the point of being useless, but subhrobhandari has provided the answer

You need to provide a lot more information before you can expect any help...
As it stands, your post looks like you're a troll trying to stir up trouble. :thumbd:

cloudstr, need more info. And was ONLY privazer taking 50% of your CPU or all the other processes were included? What do you mean by 2 tasks, cleaning two drives at the same time?

only privazer taking CPU and two tasks mean cleaning two drives at the same time. I remember the old version, tasks not run simultaneously but in sequence. Cleaning C: drive completed -> Cleaning D: drive completed -> Cleaning E: drive ... Now it runs together, cleaning three drives at same time shorten the running time, maybe.. but it slows the computer a lot.

Update on errors that I was getting wiping files. These errors seem to only occur when I try to wipe files on an external device, like a USB stick or a truecrypt container. I have been paying attention and so far I have noticed a ny of these errors when wiping files on my desktop.

    Problem with program

Since the last update I have been unable to use Privazer on win7.

I click scan and get this dialogue box:-

http://prntscr.com/366vrg (sorry trouble adding image atm)

No matter how many times I click the box it just re appears. In the end I have to kill the program in task manager.

Bit annoying as I normally only use windows for family stuff (and boy my family put a lot of "stuff" on my puter).

Any ideas why this may be happening?

BTW, I have tried rolling back to a previous version and it doesn't fix the problem... :gack:
