I have been using Webroot Secureanywhere complete for two years now.
And it had been my best experience with a security software till now.
So light in resources... usually takes memory less than 5 mb.
It is as if it doesnt exist in the pc. It is a cloud antivirus and is always updated, never downloading any database locally.
The installer is itself under 1 mb.
Gives 5 pc license and two mobile licenses. Good password manager powered by Lastpass. Effective antiphishing and anti keylogging features.
    Never felt safer.
Though I miss the extensive firewall features like custom rules it seem to have lost to function in Win8/8.1.
Anyone here with similar or other experience with it?

Always had issues with it, so rarely run it for more than a month.

The only thing I miss with WSA running with windows 8/8.1 is the custom rule creation in firewall. Hope to see that back soon. Till then happy with Windows FireWall Control by binisoft.

Hard for me to say how strong WSA is because it doesn't seem to matter which AV I use, infections aren't a problem, probably because of internet filters and defenses such as Sandboxie. So what matters to me are 2 things, does the AV have a solid reputation and how noticeable does the AV make itself. WSA has a good reputation with few problems reported. And as far as impact goes, WSA might as well not be there. :thumb: What singularity says in the OP goes for me too.

is it still quiet low in detection? I haven't used this program before but I know that it Monitors processes and obviously prevents those from doing anything harmful to the System. Well if that is the case I think it doesn't Need to have a high detection rate, at least not initially. However it should detect the file as being bad after some time of Monitoring. I have seen some tests and Reviews on the net and in those it didn't do so well. MBAM and Hitman found ocjects afterwards so I'm quiet unsure about Webroot. If someone could shed light on how Webroot exactly works I'd be very happy.

Had a license now for several years but within a few weeks of any fresh install I always seen the "missing tray icon" so uninstall again. And so it goes on. (have not reported to support-no other AV I have tried shows this behaviour).

I observed that too rarely, but it is just a missing tray icon, the services run fine. May be a lil bug.

Webroot SecureAnywhere is amazing, very fast with nice protection, in my opinion WSA is the future of malware protection.

The only problem for me is the subpar web filter and extension (speed/smooth)

Good Morning! WSA Security Plus...is the one App...that is a Foundation piece...of my usually Layered approach to Security! Webroot's Support to it's Customer Base is Industry Leading...it's Competitors in some instances are sadly lacking in establishing a Customer First Focus. Webroot is in essense a Class Act! Sincerely...Securon

WSA is one of my favorites. Lightest out their, and their protection is unrated.

WSA's virtues (and FW limitations) are spelled-out well enough here so I won't be redundant in that respect. My only negative observation is a noticeable impact when launching IE and when opening certain webpages.

The reason I don't use WSA is because I've always had issues with it too. On my Windows XP system, the system sometimes hangs at the Windows shutdown screen if WSA and AppGuard are both installed. This never happens if either WSA or AppGuard are present on their own.

From the one or two other reports I have seen of this, it only happens on Windows XP. The problem is an intermittent one that can't be readily reproduced, making it difficult to investigate.

I am a former Prevx 3 user and would buy a license for WSA (Prevx 4) except for this issue. WSA has the lightest footprint of any AV that I have tried. When I eventually replace my Windows XP system, I will try WSA alongside AppGuard again.

well my only reason of not using WSA is simple. It has a subscription model and I haven't found any cheap licenses so far since I'm excluded from newegg's sales:p

The reason WSA is missing certain portions of the firewall and all the other vendor do is use the same API's to look like it's using there own Firewall why waste resources when the Windows 8.1 OS Firewall already does this! https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2324165&postcount=3

I'm also excluded from newegg's sales.

    I just renewal using a alternative source . (store.majorgeeks.com)

It's cheaper than using Webroot's renewal model.

Im a new user as of late November With Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete. I love the help from the Webroot Community and this WSAC has the best Support I've ever come across in 14 years of using a Security Programs for my OSs. Any problems you get free support and you issue a Support Ticket and these guys are on it. Really Security Support , is the top of my list as a consumer.

You can also go for getting a new copy, they give great promotional offers on new licenses..
It wont matter much if you are not using online backup, webconsole, password manager etc.
