Hello, answers for the most asked questions

-Our official website is tiranium-antivirus(.)com (its in English now, but not fully done)
-We use own-made Tiranium Intelligence + Tiranium Databases + Online heuristics robots, we don't use any 3rd party engine.
-We've reported to other antivirus vendors that detects our software as malware, that should be fixed soon.
-our antivirus is still under development so except more and more features as we're working hard on it.

    Cheers,
    Tiranium development team.

    you can add:

1- it is French, so translation errors is possible but they do their best for correct them.
2- using it in a VM or spare computer to test it is recommended. (because point n°3 above)

you can folow the development easily on Malwaretips.com (thread, installers and videos available there)

    Thanks

From that thread, I can see that the developer, Dubseven, is really working hard EVERYDAY, trying to fix those bugs and improve Tiranium AV.

I'm trying to understand Dubseven's posting:

"ATTENTION : Our systems detects only running malicious and not unactivated malwares.
If an malware is created on /windows/ before Tiranium and it's not running and not in the startup of Windows (ALLs), Tiranium will not scan it."

  6. Uses a lot of CPU when analyzing malware. Seems to combine survive re-boot (e.g. autoruns) with reputation/VT-like analysis, interesting approach

It analyzes behavior for the entire duration of a program's execution?

  8. Well depending on the different CPU spikes (35 to 45%) it does In free version of sandboxie, like Buster's sandbox analyser did in paid version of sandboxie. Other executions only spike to 10-15 % so there seems to be some own behavioral analysis or PE-heuristics also.

Have reverted to Safe_Admin image again, so can't tell you more about it.

Considering changes at Sandboxie the free usage of IP-protected software is questionable when you start to charge money for it (when Tiranium would become a commercial product).

yes almost everyday he add a fix/update from the feedbacks he receive

means an inactive/dormant malware (created on the system before Tiranium installation) that is not in Windows startup list will not be detected by the scanner ( it wil be skipped)

Bitdefender is the only engine that flags it on VirusTotal.

Is this compatible with Windows 8.1? I can install it, but on first launch after the install it looks like it is trying to do an update. It starts the update and then fails stating that it couldn't be removed? And then it winds up in this partially installed and uninstalled state, having to do manual cleanup to get rid of it.

Sounds nice, but the problem is that Sandboxie isnt open source, Invincea wont get happy with this.

I decided to test the av and cloud scanner. The av (since is beta) does not have web protection and some tools not available yet. Anyway it did its job as well as the rest of the antiviruses there. The only thing I liked was its 16 av file scanner.

The cloud scanner on-the-other-hand was great and its on-demand custom scanning detection was excellent.

So I will keep the cloud scanner but ditch the av for now.

wow so many avs in viustotal (some famous ones) flag tiranium av and cloud scanner as malware. This is scary and maybe tiranium guys should look into this.

So it uses behavioral detection and VirusTotal? That is REALLY cool.

    1. Does it still only detect or can it remove?
    2. How well does it do in personal tests? I saw one result on MalwareTips where it got a 99.38% detection rate.
    3. Is it compatible with other AVs?
