No problemo it loads now :D
Though i'm not sure what icon that would possibly share some looks from the ESET "eye".

In anycase FWIW ESET doesn't use the "eye" anymore for the tray icon :)

I'm not sure that's a great upgrade over Bitdefender. I could just use Baidu and get a similar product if that's what I'm after.

Except that Baidu isn't nearly as refined as 360 is. Qihoo 360 never had any update issues, proactive defense works wonderfully, phishing protection works and keylogging protection is pretty good.

I see. We'll hopefully detection rates don't drop off much.

I wouldn't think that it would. Folks that have done testing had all engines on and with bitdefender off. There really wasn't a huge variation between detection. Like 1-2 files out of 200. Plus we don't know what that fourth engine is either. I'm sure detection will be comparable or slightly better.

    .

I think they should have kept BD & Avira both that would be good.

And about the fourth engine I guess that could be the repair stuff that the chinese version has. If I remember correctly chinese version has 5 icons, qvm, cloud, bd, avira & that 360 repair stuff.

Oh yeah might be. Yes they should have kept BD and added Avira. Who knows that kind of legal stuff might be making that happen? The repair engine will be a nice addition as well.

I'm not too concerned about detection rates, as it seems the BD engine it used wasn't up to par with BD's actual product (a problem other BD engine products seem to have), so the Avira engine might actually bring an increase in detection rates.

Also, is there a beta going on or something for the English version? When is this new version coming out?

The upcoming 360 Total Security is nothing new in my opinion as per security point i.e it still will be triple AV protection (though I think its dual AV & not triple AV as heur cannot be count as third engine & QVM is their heur engine) & thats it, nothing new in security front, rest module are additional stuffs. But who know if there will be something new. It would be good to see a firewall.

Their proactive is not suitable for average users. I think they should add an option "alert only on malware found" that way it would be good for average users too.

Thats the prob with all the AVs i.e difference in detection between products using other products engine & actual products. I have tested such products quite a few times & difference in detection was always there.

On malwaretips, malware packages are there & people post the detection results of AVs. Recently there was a malware package i.e 165 malware samples. Some one posted Baidu's Avira results 114/165 & I scanned with Avira (cloud disabled) 157/165. See thats the difference & this difference I have noticed in all the products that are using other products engines with the actual products. I think there was also a thread about this on malwaretips.

I agree with those that feel a FW is unnecessary. The windows firewall works just fine.

Yes, I too agree if the FW is like Windows FW i.e inbound blocked & outbound allowed then that FW is not necessary. But if the FW implemented is smart & autodecides like Norton FW & I guess Kaspersky FW also has something on the basis of which it autodecides then FW is a good addition & protects more & better than Windows FW. And I have noticed in my tests that Windows FW is very easily disabled by malware.

I tested 360's self protection and behavioral analysis with 'Advanced process termination', it could successfully pass all the tests. :thumb:

Have any of you guys ever used the 'Advanced process termination' ?
it's wonderful for testing AVs. I'm telling you.. many AVs failed this test so far.

    Amin :)

As a Chinese, knowing this software is installed on almost every computer in China, I suggest not using it. I am sorry to say that.

Cloud only works good in large numbers, so why is it bad if nearly all chinese users use it?

There can be a reason that I am from one of their competitors, especially I can't back up my words with some facts. So after all, people have to think for themselves. :)

Are you talking on behalf of Qihoo or against them.

    It s somewhat like advertising.

"Almost everyone in china is using it.dont use it,why?because I m from the rival company"
